Great video...I purchased this for my P365. This Holster works very well with my joggers (working remotely this is the attire I wear the most). I agree it can slow down the draw of the gun process, but I adjusted my firearm according to try to compensate.

Also you don't have to wear it in your pants if your shirt is long enough. Only the bottom half will show at the bottom. Which is fully legal in my states.

Definitely scares the shit out of me. People are promoting this even prominent KZbinrs. I’m 60 years old and I’ve never felt I need to pull my gun … The day I do more than likely be unexpected, and will have to be done within seconds . Food for thought I carry at 4 o’clock why that’s where my wallet is … I heard you loud and clear. And you do cover my concerns so that being said, I appreciate the video. Still think why are you carrying. This is just my opinion, and everybody has to be comfortable with their own choices. … Thanks again for the video.

I bought this for my shield to use it occasionally when I need extreme concealment. It quickly became my everyday carry. I often left my gun at home because even my quality kydex holsters were not comfortable all day. I actually carry ALL THE TIME now and it’s 100% because of this holster. I’d rather be slower on the draw with the gun I’m carrying than have it in the safe at home!! Thinking about one for my G19. Is the sd9 about the same size as a Glock 19 and is it still comfortable all day? Thank you
@alrbredwall
@alrbredwall 2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad to hear that the smart carry holster is meeting your needs and helping you carry when you would not have carried. I agree. A slower draw is better than not having a gun to draw at all. The sd9ve has the exact same dimensions as the glock 19. Just remember that the bigger the gun is the less comfortable that it will be. Small guns are super comfortable in this.

I'm mainly going by John Correa's holster tips and my personal experience when I say the retention isn't good enough. I'll give you the trigger not being really activated like I was thinking, but it still looks like it's so loose around the mouth that something could get in there. What are your thoughts on kydex holsters? They're my personal favorite.
@alrbredwall
@alrbredwall Жыл бұрын
Hi good sir or ma'am! You didnt have to take comments over here but thank you anyways! Thanks for commenting. Yes it certainly isn't for everyone. I'm glad you have holsters you like though. In the really off chance that you decide to grab one of these I think you will be pleasantly surprised by how the retention system actually works as it is retained by your beltline and your body. Kydex holsters are great. I love them. I have several. I like to get mine specifically custom pressed by my local FFL who makes them for a very affordable price. I think kydex is the best solution for most people. Also, the smart carry is great if your concern is deep concealment but if it's not then kydex is usually the way to go.

I see you are a lefty - so am I. I also carry a P365 with a laser. Can you tell me what size holster you bought for the Sig? Also, I often carry my S&W Bodyguard w/laser. Do you think I need to get a different size for this smaller pistol, or will the one for the P365 also work for the Bodyguard? Thanks for the review.
@alrbredwall
@alrbredwall 2 жыл бұрын
The holster is custom made to the specs of the gun and the accessory so you can't select a size when you are ordering a smart carry. I would say order one for your sig sauer a d then see if it fits well with the body guard.

It's not. My camera work is just not good. I run with this holster all the time. Also, your belt and body pressed up against your pants prevent the gun from moving. There is another video on KZbin of a guy doing hand stands and cart wheels with this thing.

It is comfortable for driving for long periods of time if you use it with a smaller firearm. If you do this with a larger gun and you have a few extra pounds on you then you will probably feel discomfort. I will do another video on my ankle carry rig that I use for driving Long periods of time.

Is this a good setup for a smaller woman? What sizes of firearms work best?
@alrbredwall
@alrbredwall Жыл бұрын
hello. Smart Carry makes holsters specifically for women and the unique build that women have. there is more information on this product directly on the smart carry website. In my experience, the smaller the firearm the better. the goal is to have it conceal well and be comfortable. Usually a micro compact firearm or a single stack or even a j frame revolver works well.

years ago before i went to smart carry i use to use the knock off clones on amazon. they were terrible and they began falling apart immediately. they also did not tailor the holster specifically to my gun so the holsters were either too small or too big so there was never a secure fit. I don't recommend getting the knock offs as there is not much of a price difference and the quality that you are getting by getting the real thing is worth it.

Will this work for an fn509 tactical with a large size?

Yes. I had one made for a smith and wesson sd9ve with a streamlight tlr8. The gun has the same dimensions as s glock 19. The FN has dimensions similar to a glock. From what I understand, the smart carry website recently changed their sizing system. If yiu still have questions I would contact their customer service. But I have not had any problems.

what but pulling the trigger by accident in the draw because your finger will go inside the Holster
@alrbredwall
@alrbredwall 2 жыл бұрын
Your finger does not go inside the holster. Your finger is not able to enter the trigger guard portion of the holster when the gun is inside. When you draw the meat of your palm cups/grips the grip of the pistol and this is how it is drawn. These things are only about 60 bucks for a customized one for your gun. Give it a try and see if it is for you.

What’s retention like?
@alrbredwall
@alrbredwall 11 ай бұрын
The holster by itself does not have any retention. When you fasten your pants and belt over it when you wear it your beltline provides all of the retention. Because of this you can do handstands and flips and the gun doesn't move. It is actually more secure than off my of my kydex holsters because of this.
