I read online somewhere that the doll designer’s first SmartDoll was actually a robotic doll. I guess he just kept the name because the exterior design stayed the same....?

how durable is the smartdoll? Will the socket/joints get loose with repeated pulling and attaching of the limbs and head?

I have not noticed that in mine. However, I don’t change their clothes everyday.

Which do you prefer, Cortex or Vinyl? I don't know which to get.

I don’t have any Cortex, but my understanding is the Cortex body is harder, more durable and less prone to staining. I only have the vinyl, and I do like how they are softer than hard plastic play line dolls.

I am very careful so none have been stained yet. I keep them in light colored clothing for the most part. If I put them in dark pants I put them in leggings under the pants for protection.

I also keep them out of direct sunlight.

HoneyBeeHappy Me you betcha! I lay it under my loose hair while rerooting too, (while spritzing with water) prevents static flyaways
