Thanks for the info. I bought one and this feeder is so neat and tidy, no unnecessary buttons, nice mount and if it continues to work hard to beat and price is right.

My favorite feeder by far is the Juwel SmartFeed. Good with both flakes and pellet. Also the holding chamber can be expended.

I have 3 of those eheim feeders. They seem to work the best of all the ones i have tried. I have not had any issues. I tried a rechargeable one and it only lasted a month. The nice thing about the replaceable batteries is you don't have to throw the whole thing away when the battery is no longer working. The one you have looks interesting though. Look forward to the long term review.

Good to know! Like I said, because of the weight and design of the Eheim feeder it became loose and then troubles started happening with it... Jamming up. Of course it lasted for about 18 months.

I have to feed all my tanks strategically except for my growout tanks and single species tanks. So for my 55 for example, 1st I feed a ton of whole vibra bites until the meanest little amazon puffer is fattened up. Then I add crushed vibrabites for the guppies. Then I add snails for the schoutedeni puffer and some pellets that he shares with the plecos at the bottom. Last I feed live daphnia and worms for the 2 puffers who refuse to eat prepared foods and of course most of the fish will eat some of that too. The rest of the tanks are a bit more simple so I suppose I could mix 2 diff. dried foods for them.

Off topic for this particular video, but I figured this video's recency would help you see my question: Will anoxic filtration work for small tanks? The videos I've watched so far all featured larger tanks. I'm hoping to create a planted 6- to 10-gallon nano tank for a betta or for some celestial pearl danios, and I wondered if an anoxic plenum would work in an aquarium that small. Thanks in advance for your response.

Great video, thanks 4 posting. I had one question regarding lighting for you. You talk about really affordable objects with bright light using different bulbs. I noticed that sometimes they can be 6" from top of water to 12" or 18" or higher. I understand by raising light you are controlling the intensity of it. I guess my question is what's the big difference if I have lower powered bulbs 3 inches above water or higher or very brighter light 12 inches or 18 inches above water? Does it all balance out. Why not get lower powered light but lower it's height etc? I also understand that higher power bulbs are to help reach a taller/larger tank in general. Any input on that would be helpful

Does this work when you are not connected to Bluetooth? I saw a review that said it didn't which defeats the prurpose of feeding while gone from the house
@anoxicfiltrationplenums4 ай бұрын
The Bluetooth is for programming easily, the automatic feeder. I never had trouble with me being away on vacation in the automatic feeder did not feed the fish unless it got stuck. A lot of people really shy away from Wi-Fi feeders because once again, it's big Brother watching you all the time. So far I have been using it without any problems at all and I like the ease of using Bluetooth to program it on my phone anytime I wish to change it.

Excellent work sir. Ive been watching all your videos like a madman 😅. I am setting up 2 tanks and got the following: Bio media,Aquarium gravel,iron clay and oil dri mix with everything under UGF.Is there anything I should add or subtract? Your input would greatly help my project. Thanks 🙏.

Excellent review. Does it tell you if battery low, like a light flashing? Just wondering.
@anoxicfiltrationplenums6 ай бұрын
Yes it does. When the battery is low it let you know so you can plug it in and recharge the battery. It has 1000 mA battery already built into it. A hopper full of food will last me two weeks feeding my fish four times a day with the largest feeding opening.

Dr. Novak, you mentioned you made a modification "because I am an engineer..." lol. What was the modification you made?
@anoxicfiltrationplenums6 ай бұрын
I made a hole over the button so it can be pushed without taking the plastic lid off.

Hey. Do you know how to change time after daylight saving change? Reseting feeder wont update to "new" time. :(
@anoxicfiltrationplenums29 күн бұрын
You'll have to go into your phone to do that. Maybe I'll do a video about it. My understanding they may not have daylight savings time this year.
@Macias28 күн бұрын
@@anoxicfiltrationplenums In the app there is no time settings. In EU we had time change week ago, but feeder still is on summer time. In US time change is on the 3rd november so maybe it will change then.

Thanks for the video. Have you tried the aquarium co-op feeder? It's one of the best ones out there. It would be interesting to hear your take on it, you being an aquarist and an engineer. Btw products from China that use blue tooth often spy on your home network and phone sending the info to Chinese servers then directly to China. Now I don't know if that's a huge issue or not but I guess that's the way of the world now. 😊
@anoxicfiltrationplenums6 ай бұрын
The Co-Op feeder is nothing but a Chinese feeder like the rest of them. Of course, I think most of the feeders, even the German ones are made in China to be cost effective. I've heard most people do not want Wi-Fi because of spying on them.. Today it's kinda hard to get away from Bluetooth.

This one does not work in US with daylight saving. Not sure when they will fix their software.

where is the link to the product?
@anoxicfiltrationplenums6 ай бұрын
It's clear and it sits right on top it's supposed to prevent moisture from getting to the food. Can see it in the video.

Can i put fish flakes in it ? Is true the app doesn't work? I read few comments
@anoxicfiltrationplenums3 ай бұрын
Only if they're very small fish flakes, I would say that would work.
