This is a tutorial demonstrating how to connect a smart bulb to the Smart Life/Tuya app using AP mode.
This is the best way to connect a new smart device when you do not have a visible 2.4Ghz WiFi connection.
Obviously there are ways of splitting your WiFi into 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands thus making the 2.4Ghz band visible but this does require changing your routers settings and the method varies from one broadband provider to another.

Thank you very much for this tutorial man! I was just about to send it back when I saw this video, now I can still use my lamp with Google Assistent. Even though I have a 5 Ghz wifi network.

This means that I can use now the wifi lamp while the switch are off? In the moment that I want this will works? No more "Device disconnected"?

If you are putting the lights in your ceiling fan, do u have to program them one by one or can you do it all at once? And what selection do you choose under lights?

Yes you will have to install each one first, then once all of them are installed you can group them as one light so all of them will come on at the same time.

Dana P yes that is correct, connected without Internet is fine, it means your phone has paired with the bulb itself and it is communicating with it. Press back on your phone and follow the smart life prompts.

It tired your method but when I connect to smart wifi, it ask me the password for it. Why to do

It shouldn't ask for your wifi password. Make sure you select the device you want to connect.

I tried this with the Teckin SB50 and it just stays at that discovery screen, eventually timing out. Sending it back. What a wasted evening of trying to get this POS to work.

Did you try EZ mode and AP mode, and neither of them worked? If your WiFi only displays one band, use AP mode, if you have both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz, select 2.4Ghz on your mobile and then use EZ mode. When using AP mode, you must make sure that the bulb is also in AP mode and that it is flashing slowly. Also, remember to switch the app to AP mode.

@@1210milky1 I tried all of that. I even set the 2.4 GHz band on channel 1, seeing how it helped someone else, of course to no avail. Most frustrating amazon purchase ever...in AP mode it just throws me a message that it can't use the network, or times out after 2 minutes of searching. The strange thing is that in EZ mode the bulb stops flashing soon after initiation of adding, but fails to progress any further and just... yes u guessed it... times out.

@@djnjoy have you split your WiFi bands then? If so this method won't work for you and you will need to use EZ mode

@@1210milky1 I had the 5Ghz band disabled completely. I think i just got bad units. Sent them back this morning. A friend of mine told me he uses many with Smart Life, just a different brand (and he has the same phone as I). I guess I'll give it another try in the future, just not with Teckin.

@@djnjoy if you disabled the 5Ghz band, then this method probably won't work for you. To use AP mode your Internet connection must have a merged 5Ghz/2.4Ghz band. If you are only using the 2.4Ghz band then you must use EZ mode to connect your bulb. I have many different brands of smart home equipment, Philips hue, Innr, aigoss, teckin, Aisirer, Ualau, Aerb, Doreshop, Victure and they all connect the same way, so doesn't really matter what brand you choose. Obviously you might have recieved a faulty bulb but if not, you might find the same problem with other brands that you purchase in the future.

All smart home stuff connects the same way so it doesn't really matter what brand you buy, you'll still end up with the same problem.

Did you turn the bulb on and off 3 times and then another 3 more times after that? Also remember to switch to AP mode within the app
