The Smart Lane Moveable Median (SLMM) is an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) device suitable for automated control of:
*HOV Lanes / Managed Lanes / Reversible Lanes
*Tidal Flow or Contraflow
*Road, Tunnel, and Lane Closures
*Ramp and Exit Access
The SLMM is an automated median / channelizer that can move across the road surface. Configurable in lengths of up to 984ft (300m), Traffic Tech’s SLMM is designed to be installed at specific locations to provide an effective means of redirecting and managing traffic.
The SLMM makes use of its own PLC based controller to operate as a standalone system. It can also interface to third party control systems such as local Traffic Management Centres or other Road Authority systems.
Ready for evolving traffic conditions, the SLMM can be deployed in a matter of seconds. This provides Road Authorities, Departments of Transportation (DOT’s), and Traffic Management Centres, the ability to execute critical
changes to the roadway configuration, facilitating greater flexibility, and more effective incident management.
