I am so very happy for you, Elin! My Mom and Dad had 6 children, 3 before her MS diagnosis and 3 after, and she lived to be almost 91! I’m the oldest, and I call her my Miracle Mom! We grew up in Minneapolis, and 4 of my siblings still live there. My own family moved to Fergus Falls 45 years ago and love it here. Mom was an amazing artist, seamstress, and volunteered for so many worthwhile causes. You are my favorite KZbin channel to watch! 💕

Congratulations on the baby! Can't wait to hear more about motherhood from your point of view. As for small messes (and this will cause people with pinterest-worthy linen closets to get quite flappy-handed), the day I stopped folding sheets was absolutely liberating. Take the set, shove it in one of the pillowcases, throw them all in a tall woven basket and toss a decorative throw on top. Are they wrinkled? Yep. Do I care when my eyes are closed and I'm snoring? Not in the least.

Awesome video Elin! Congratulations 🎉 to you and Andy. How exciting for you both you are absolutely beaming! I loved your last point. I completely agree with all your points and I do them as well to handle my messes. I love that you call them smart messes. Ingenious! It puts a more positive vibe to the word mess instead of thinking of the mess negatively.

Congratulations on your baby girl! Such a wonderful blessing! ❤️ I can't move my clutter to a less visible place. I've moved papers and things off the kitchen counter or dining table, and then lost bills and keys. I think I'm what Cass from Clutterbug calls a butterfly. Out of sight, out of mind.😢

Congratulations on the birth of your baby!! I'm sorry it was chaotic! I am glad you and the baby are well. Aw. Yes! Babies grow so fast before your eyes. Interesting about the "smart mess" - though the idea of even a little mess makes me get the chills hehe. I wish I didn't have to have my recycling area where it is, but in a tiny two family house apartment where I can't keep it all outside, it is what it is. When people come over, I put it nicely in my closet instead. It goes out every week though, thankfully. That must be my only "mess" I have that is actually well cared for. I make it a regular thing to not build up messes because I am "allergic" to them haha. It is probably why I don't get invited to places, because people are intimidated by my tidy home and feel I'll look down on theirs. >.< I love this though, this idea of a "smart mess" as you stated. I like the questions you ask.

I have four kids, tour in college for the other tour in high school. They are split with two of them being slaps and the other two are OC organized rooms. There’s also an increased amount of foot traffic which makes our floor is dirtier very quickly. I also have two dogs, two cats, and one goldfish after the other fish died last week. I jokingly say that my life would be a little bit less stressful without their messes, however, I think part of it is that I feel the need to take care of their messes. Any tips onpeople who live with you being slobs?

What are you talking about. You don't need to go on Marie Kondo's show. Just get her book and do the work. It IS life changing. I read the book about 8 years ago and I permanently reduced my mess by 70% or so. The remaining 30% is easier and quicker to deal with.
