Great video! So many people only have $3-$5 left to save and get defeated because it is such a small amount. NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL!! Over time, you will see that it does add up. Saving fifty cents on your groceries is change to add to a change jar...no amount is too small. These are very difficult times for the vast majority of Americans - but whatever you do, please don't give up!

Just found you, but can I ever relate, I wear the same old clothes, no makeup, no fancy hair or nails, no anything. Contentment. We recently bought our first house (I was turning 48) and now we’re trying to pay off our mortgage in 5-6 years tops instead of 30. We saved for soo long to get a 20% down payment and all the other bills/expenses that go along with that. We have an adult child with autism that we’ll support financially for life, so we are grateful for this home that will one day be hers.. ❤ Generational wealth is a good thing and well worth the hard work!!

I don’t know why viewers are so negative. I think you are the most logical lifestyle vlogger. What you do is what most of us have to do to survive with saving some money. It is shocking how many people shrug their shoulders at the necessity to save. Your videos have always looked so elegant and peaceful. This look is usually associated with the wealthy, and here you are living it without tons of money. You put in the work and you care. Many people are too lazy to create the environment that you maintain in your home.

I very much appreciate and admire that you are an influencer who influences in the best possible way Kyra... no promotions of green drinks or therapy services, and endless other crap! As to make up and clothing, you are all the more attractive for being real and fresh - A genuine breath of plant based/vegan fresh air, in the murky world of ytube 💚

I think debt payments are more quickly paid off with the Ramsey snowball instead. Concentrating all efforts on paying the smallest debt first with minimum payments on everything else and then moving up to the next smallest. I agree with your other points though and definitely agree on living below your means. One of my tricks on spending on unnecessary items is to put it in the cart and wait like a week, sometimes I just forget about it and realize I don’t really need it! 😅

I love listening to your contents. With minimalist lifestyle for 5 years has helped us to build our own home at 30 years old with my husband working overseas. Here in the Philippines, building homes are way expensive yet of course cheaper compared to US.

I agree on the minimalist lifestyle. I try to buy pieces that work well together. For my kids, I refer buying on sale, and wat we call in the Netherlands kledingpakketen( clothes packages) which is a way to buy pieces in bulk. I also try to grow my own herbs and some of my vegetables. It really helps me save.

Kyra, I LOVED this video. SO MUCH. I am here to tell you first and foremost that I want you to be your genuine self and come as you are when you share your content with us. Especially gems like this! Amazing advice. I wish I knew all of this at your age. Honestly, I didn't start getting real about finances until I was about 48. I'm almost 52 now. I did have a 401K but it wasn't enough. I am playing catch up on that and many other things. I am now an advid budgetor and track every penny. If never too late had a poster child, it would be me. I spent about 30 years of my adult life doing everything I should do. But now I am on a path to financial independence. Your contributions are priceless. Thank you!

Great video! As usual! Thanks for reminding us that saving a small amount is better than nothing. I agree - we should have had a Finance class in high school. I wonder if I would have listened. Maybe I would have.

I love your lifestyle and living within your means. That’s so real…especially being in Mass because I live in the Boston area and I barely buy anything for myself and I’m still penny pinching. I know you do KZbin full time, but have you ever thought of being a flight attendant? I’m based out of Boston and it gives me flexibility to do other stuff too because it isn’t a 9-5 job. You have plenty of free time to do KZbin as well. Just a thought because I know you said in the past about the finances with just doing KZbin. ❤

I spend $5 on orange juice and $10 on monster drinks A DAY $15 on sugary drinks everyday. I did the math and was floored to see it was hundreds by the end of the month. Mind you I owe thousands in credit cards. I’m glad I actually wrote down what I buy every day and saw what was taking my money. Also, I pay like less than $5 on dinner, I literally buy a can of sardines and one potato and that’s dinner which I love because it’s seasoned nice and fried nice.
