Love the vids and use them but wanted to over a couple critiques: 1) It is sometimes difficult to follow where in the scope of the code you are currently editting because you have a habit of deleting code segments and then cutting that action from the video... so, for example, we don't necessarily know which class's "initState()" we are in. 2) The videos seem like you've speeded them up by default... or maybe I'm getting old. Anyway... as a possible solution to "critique #1" you could speed up segments of code editting/navigation as a video transition style instead of editting them out which is more jarring.

Say you have a teacher, and the teacher has multiple different classes. Each class has a list students in that class. If the teacher wanted to send a notification to all the students in a particular class with a tap of button how that work?

Each user would be in a group and you would have a cloud function called per group, initiated by the teachers user.

On Android, you need to do several things to be handle background notifications. You can follow the steps given here: pub.dev/packages/firebase_messaging - Unfortunately, there is quite an annoying bug (github.com/FirebaseExtended/flutterfire/issues/1684) preventing this to work, which make this package unusable for Android... Without mentionning the fact that with the current Flutter version, callbacks are triggered twice on Android also: github.com/FirebaseExtended/flutterfire/issues/1669 - Quite ridiculous if you ask me, Push Notifications are such a basic feature..... On iOS, you will need to implement it with an other plugin as this GitHub user describe in his answer: github.com/FirebaseExtended/flutterfire/issues/116#issuecomment-583854658

Can we use something else, like MQTT for example? I think FCM has its roots with Play Services and is the most efficient way for notifications.... I can't help but wonder. If I have a suite of apps, maybe I can make a separate app that acts as MQTT client and receives notifications that way?

If you need to push anything you need a certificate an enrolment with external push service like FCM for that you need a dev certificate
