You have these videos spot on. We get a drive and chat going to the job, the job itself and the conclusion on the way back. It is funny and is your character when you want to do way more than the job itself. Now when you were in your workshop spraying you wet the floor. That stopped paint sticking and dust rising. I ran a bodyshop for 30 years before I went mobile. You will always get criticism from the guys with spraybooths, it's a different matter when you're painting in temperatures between 4 degrees and 30 degrees, not to mention all the wildlife from miles around trying to land in the final coat. Good job done there, looks like new. I had a Fiesta in Hot Magenta pearlescent and only trusted a main dealer to repair some deep scratches down the side as I knew it was a difficult paint to work with, cost me a bomb! I would imagine Candy Blue and Candy Red are the same. Personally although I love the pearlescent effect, I'd never buy a car with it!

I think you’ve done really well, only the 3rd week into it after all, you’ve got all the skills and know how it’s just adapting to something new. Finding bits in your paint is extremely annoying, there must be things available to help, worth some research.

Is it panel wipe you spray on to wipe off the dust after sanding? Why do you flat and polish as your finish looks amazing to me, better than the rest of the car?

I use a 15mm thick gym / yoga matt under my repairs. Also I use multimix 2 extra fast and leave it maybe a minute before next clear coat . Maybe your waiting a little too long

Hey Grant, like others have said here you know you are a damn good painter so it's down to the environment that you are painting in so the elements are against you, would it help if you put some water down around the area you are spraying maybe wetting the ground will help a bit 🤔🤷‍♂️😂 but I think it came out great and the colour match was spot on 👏👍 I like your patent paint drying system mate (aka a hairdryer) I use one to dry my basecoat but I have the super deluxe GTI version which has a deionizing function so it's a paint drying system with built in stat gun (aka Remington plus hairdryer 😎😂)

I think a lot of it is best of a bad situation you’ll have good luck some days and bad luck some days using fast drying lacquer and smart techniques your always going to have to buff and polish anyway Learn to love the polisher 😜

Yeah it’s been down all weekend mate my friend Gary has the program on his laptop so he sent me the formulation for this one , on Facebook someone has put up a lechler guys number he can get you formulas Dean Haycock of Lechler. Think he’s the top technical guy there. Anyway he’s available up to midnight if you need a paint code. 07557 284964 And also Lechler UK Technical Support (01606 738600 option 2) called me back about 10 minutes after leaving a message on their voicemail earlier today and can provide formulations. Apparently an anti virus update went wrong and took out their servers, which is why the website as well as the app is down.

I’m an old dinosaur and love my solvent tried the spectral and didn’t like it at all, my mates used hydrofan for 8 years and loves it, I went out with him for the week and was so impressed I ordered it and so far I’m in week 3 and can’t tell you how impressed with it I am, I use hr915 thinners @10% with every mix and not come across a problem yet just make sure your mix is spot on gram wise and you won’t have a issue hope that helps 👍👍👍

I got mine from eBay new but don’t do what I did get the 100ml one not the 150ml as you have to have a much bigger case and it’s headache I have decanted all mine into smaller 100ml bottles now I’ll get you the link for mine 👍👍👍

When the customer says he’s happy I would say he doesn’t see that it can be done better because he hasn’t done it but with you behind the work you see what it would look like if you had done some thing other than what you had done but if you start again to correct what you think would make the job better you would never finish the job if you can get what I’m trying to say because I have got that with my wife after we have done a job on our house that after we have been with it for a while she starts to pull it to pieces but some one looking at it for the first time thinks that it is a faultless job which it is
