Hi, yes, both ewelink and home assistant report the position correctly, but first you need to calibrate it as you can see in the video. Of course, you can also set the shutter to whatever position you want in percentages. So far, I didn't have even single problem with shutters that sonoff dual r3 is managing. And I still recommend this product👌

Can this be set up to close the roller shutter depending on the amount of sunlight which is detected in the room via some sort of extra sensor? And is it possible to mount the Sonoff in the roller case box itself, not behind the wall outlet?

If you don't have Home Assistant only ewelink app which is for Sonoff i can recommend you a motion sensor from Sonoff as it has also a lux sensor so with it you could do such automation. Yes, you can put that close to the shutter but it all depends what wires you do have there - place doesnt matter

Hah, so buy me few so I will use them :). Never had a problem with sonoff dual r3 for 4 months now. They were always online when I was using Home Assistant. How many shelly do you have? And which versions? Did any break? I lost many.

@@SmartTubeOfficial already lost 5/6 shelly. Ordered 5 new, from that ones that are new in half a year, already lost 1. I'm not buying shelly anymore, if it kills me.

@@tadejbreznik213 sorry to hear that! i lost another one since my video so 3 left from 10. if shelly is not 2 year old you probably have it on warranty so I would ask for new one. Soon I should have a new product from Sonoff which will be even smaller than Shelly 2 and will also be 2 relay switch so stay tuned!
