Ask for a medical grievance too. They will ask you to fill out a form to show financial hardship. It will list your income and monthly bills

My wife and I just had our second daughter with our first we had insurance for this one we didn't at all it was all self pay and before delivery we called the hospital they told us it was gonna be 9k plus the 8k we paid the obgyn. Today we received a bill for $78,000 I don't understand the gargantuan leap from 9k to 78k USA health care is ridiculous to say the least...

Try medical tourism in India, next time if possible. If you think of yourself as super wealthy try the UK.

Healthcare here is AWFUL!!! I went into the ER last September bc I was having abdominal pains and thought I may’ve had a miscarriage, a cyst burst or something! Got my two bills about 2 months after. One from labs, $90 (not bad at all.) Got my second one from My Doc Bill for the visit and crap. Was $1200 or so, gave me a 40% discount due to being self pay… Paid those off no problem. Little pissed because the doctor literally do anything but refer me to an OBGYN. This past Friday I just received ANOTHER bill. This time from Flywire for originally $4000!!! They knocked it down to $1600. But now I’m in a bind because it looks like they’re tryna double bill me! 💀 Not to mention overcharge me!!! I’ve already paid for this mess! I’m so sick of it. I ain’t going again unless I’m about to die.💀💀💀 Even then, after seeing the medical bill I might be better off dead.

Damn, I have no idea what half the stuff on my medical bill is. These people go to college to learn all of this stuff how am I supposed to know what I received? Being at the hospital in pain trying to write down what they're doing to me sounds like a nightmare Lol

A lot of the over billing is not by mistake. A lot of third-party billing companies charge something like 10 times the Medicaid billing amount to insurance companies that give percentage discount and not pay a set amount. Sometimes the mistake is that instead of charging 10 times the amount they would build Medicaid they charge 40 times the amount. If you have an insurance cap like I do that leaves you with a hefty Bill a lot of the time. Either way though they're still screwing you.

I'm home now, from many months in different hospitals. I'm home now, still not well, but in recovery, probably for many more months, before I am healed, from a blood infection that almost killed me. I just got discharged from hospital a little over a week ago. I now have visiting nurses stopping by daily, to change my wound dressings. Today, I opened only one bill and the amount was for: $408,000 dollars(I rounded off) This was only the bill for my stay at a Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTAC Hospital). I better get my side hustle on! Oh, am I worried or have sleepless nights, you may ask? No. Why? Because I don't care? No. Reason: No amount of emotional worry will pay one penny of the hospital bill. So, those of you out there in KZbin land, please don't further hurt your emotional being and health, should this be similar to your financial predicament. God bless you.

I have been to health care bluebook but I don't see anything on the page to actually use it. It's like you need some type of code? Maybe you could make a video on using that service?

Hi Ginger, we appreciate very much your valuable tips for this very troubling topic, what causes a lot of sleepless nights , at least to me. I have medicare and the supplemental plan F. According to this plan, for all treatments approved by Medicare, I don't have to pay anything. However, I keep receiving bills and as you mentioned, almost all of the bills were wrongly coded and it turns out, I didn't have to pay any bill. But this problem bothers me too much. I even asked my Dr to provide me with only Medicare approved treatments. But still I keep receiving bills that force me to dispute them with my Doctor's office and I am tired about the whole mess. Please advice me on how to avoid such troublesome and time consuming problems? Thank you very much for your help. Tommy Vu
