+Nathan Yeah, odd to leave out that feature considering the rest of the specs. Its not just 360 videos you miss out on though, its also the apps like planetarium/star map apps and some games that wont work properly. Apparantly it may have a compass though.

The system to insert the sim card is incredibly stupid and badly designed.Why could you not simply open the back panel just like with every other phone? The pin thing they give you just does not work and mine its completely bent as I have been struggling for the last 10 minutes trying to open that thing.I bought this phone today for my wife and wanted to copy the contacts from the old sim to this phone.Had I found out about this ridiculous design while in the shop I'd have purchased another phone.I guess I didn't expect that someone would reinvent the wheel to make it square.

+footymad mad Is it the Huawei P8 or P8 Lite? If it's the full P8 then that would be the clear winner, if its the P8 Lite then your best choice would be between the Moto G 3rd Gen and the Smart Ultra 6. Moto G is smaller (more pocketable) and has lower specs but will get faster updates and is water resistant. The Smart Ultra 6 has the better (and bigger) screen and specs but likely won't get as many updates. I wouldn't consider the M4 or the P8 Lite (M4 has worst camera, slow charging; P8 Lite has poor battery life and sluggish performance). So again, if it's the Full P8 then choose that, if it's the P8 Lite then choose between the Smart Ultra 6 and the Moto G 3rd Gen.

+Sorin Cristian this is normal, the image on screen when taking a selfie will be mirror image, but once you actually take the shot, the image will be flipped back to the correct way around. Try it out.

+TheAdebayoakinfenwa I agree the Moto G 3rd Gen has a nicer design, it will also likely get more and quicker updates. But it's a shame that Motorola dropped the stereo speakers found on the previous version :(. It is significantly more pocketable than the Ultra 6, but then the Ultra 6 is more powerful (Snapdragon 615 & Adreno 405 vs Snapdragon 410 & Adreno 306) and has a bigger higher res display (5.5" 1080p vs 5.0" 720p). They also differ in some features, eg The Moto G 3rd Gen is IPX7 water resistant while the Ultra 6 has NFC. You can check out their specs side by side here: www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=7247&idPhone2=7313 The design of the Ultra 6 is bland, but, when I gave the device to some work colleagues they all guest the phone's price to be more than twice what it actually is, so it looks better than what you pay for if thats any consolation. My basic recommendation would be: if you want pocketability go the Moto G, for performance and screen quality go with the Ultra 6.

Connor Hawkey size is subjective, what I find comfortable you may not, having said that, I personally find it comfy in the hand but not so comfy in the pocket, and I've had some pretty big phones - see my pocketability comparison with a 4", 5", 6" phone kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6e3aodjp5iFf6M. +Anon mous If you are considering Chinese phones, consider the Xiaomi RedMi Note 2, pretty similar specs to the Ultra 6 and K3 Note but has a much more powerful processor and costs around the same as the K3 Note. If you want "bang for buck" go with the RedMi Note 2, if you want reliability and support go with the Ultra 6.

Niall Russell Thanks. That's a tough choice because they have different strengths and weaknesses: Smart Ultra 6 will perform slightly better, has a bigger 5.5" screen and a larger battery. M7 has a much smaller 4.7" screen but that also means it is more compact making it easier to carry in your pocket, it feels a lot more premium in the hand, and has better audio (especially the boom sound speakers). Quality of audio through headphones mostly depends on the DAC (digital to audio converter) and the software. I believe both are using a Qualcomm audio chip, but the HTC also has Beats audio, which basically is like a preset equaliser setting that boosts treble and bass. Some people will like it some won't.

+Steve Hi Steve, you are about the fourth person in the comments to pick up on this. It is 401PPI, I mistakingly took the DPI which is 480 - you can see this in the video at the 3:05 mark. I have added an overlay correction but youtube doesn't display this overlay on certain platforms, so some people see the correction and some like yourself don't, but good spotting.

Wolfdun modern smartphones have multiple sensors that can be used for motion sensing, the gyroscope is only one such type of sensor, other sensors include the accelerometer for linear acceleration. So a gyroscope is not always needed to react to phone movement.

For the money I think it is a very good device, it has a few corners cut to get it to be so affordable (eg no gyro being one, along with weak rear speaker, plastic body, and terrible low light camera) but it gets the things that matter to most people right; great screen, good battery life, respectable performance, decent camera in good daylight, and overall general user experience is good.
