Homemade soft, fluffy and very juicy kosunak. The secrets to the perfect Easter bread are a few basic ones. First the good dough, delicious, sweet and aromatic dough, with vanilla, lemon zest and more eggs. Second is the good, correct and prolonged kneading with fat. Kneading with fat creates the threads and makes the dough elastic and soft, so the kosunaka becomes fluffy and soft. And the third main thing is the baking, in order to preserve the softness and moisture in the dough, we bake it at a medium temperature and not too long, so as not to dry it out.
Ingredients:
for 1 large cake pan 28 cm
about 750 g of flour
5 eggs (I use size M - in total there are about 220 g of eggs in the dough. One white is separated for spreading)
150 g of sugar
30 g of live yeast
150 ml of milk
50 g of butter
50 ml of oil
1 tbsp. honey (20 g)
1 packet of Bourbon vanilla sugar
the peel of 1 lemon
the peel of 1/3 orange
For the stuffing
150 g walnuts (raw, lightly roasted in a pan)
50 g of honey (2 tsp. mine is sugared or 3-4 tbsp. if it is liquid)
Sugar for sprinkling
