I remember the B Roy era was ending and he was my favorite player at the time so I was hopeful for a comeback. I really got to see how good Andre Miller really was for a guy that couldn’t jump over a piece of paper! 52 points against the Mavs I watched live and that dude was hitting every pull up mid range had post work with great footwork to match! VERY good player and very underrated indeed!

A few quick highlight packages (3-5 second each) of floppy actions - Iggy getting easy buckets, Evan chasing and his man curling for a layup with no big help - would turn this clip from an 8/10 to a 10/10.

@@kelleyeidem667 idk about that, I only played in HS but floppy is basically an option of a single screen on one side and a double on the other. And if the defenders hedge too much you can back cut for a layup, if they don't at all you could get space for a middy or curl it like JJ said for an easy layup if the big is oblivious.

any young men playing organized basketball that pay attention to and soak up conversations like this will have a major advantage. these are retired young vets that love the game and now have a platform to discuss the science behind pro ball. these are players that had good careers and now their bodies are unable to perform at that level but their mind is sharper than it ever was. unfortunately thats sports...your job becomes mentally easier but the body cant keep up. ages 18-25 jumps higher, moves quicker, recovers faster but you don't know and/or not focused on the x's & o's ages 26-33 best chance and time for physical and mental to converge. man body sets in, seasoned player. understanding and applying more discipline in life. ages 34-37 slowed down physically, unable to contribute consistently. but what youve learned in the past 15 years keeps you valuable. thats the arc of a typical nba player with a good career. im the same age as these guys. the same age as lebron. i know how they feel about their craft, the way they talk about it. anyone doing a job for 20 years talks about their work the same way. all the decisions we made as young men leading up til now and what we couldve done different to be better at this or that. thats why we all respect lbj for doing what hes doing at the level that hes doing it.

Love Andre Miller. Criminally under rated player. Had he been a starter his entire career we would have seen him make all star teams and maybe make it to the hall. Funny thing about Miller. Early in his career he was third in the league in assists and leading the league in assist to turnover ratio as the starting PG in Philly. Pretty good numbers from what you would consider a "pure point guard". He got traded to Portland and the announcers were talking about Miller as more of a scorer than a point guard.....WTF? That stuck with him his entire career. The dude was a legit facilitator.
