Not to dishearten you but Flakes is mechanical, he's just grounded and has a modest playstyle. Consistent double flip resets, flip resets into musty flicks, ceiling shot musty's, accurate pre-flips and into flip resets are all part of his arsenal. His mechanical abilities are underrated.
@worstpianist3985 Жыл бұрын

@kovugreen Жыл бұрын
@@worstpianist3985 Yeah I can see how people assume he doesn't have any mechs when you judge from his ''road to ssl with no mechanics'' and also his playstyle. Last time I saw him play was from his twitch as well as somebody else's channel. He hit each triple flip reset he went for, got a reset into a musty double touch and got a pogo. He obviously isn't S-tier as those players have a higher consistency and creativity within the moment, but he ain't no slouch.

Flakes playstyle is so provocative! He relies on his opponents mistakes to score meaning that his opponents would most likely underestimate what he can do and booom all of a sudden he pulls off a flick or outspeed you to a boost or some shit like that. I've learned a lot from Flakes about being patient and appreciate the ground plays but I gotta say I cheer to the pros who push the limits of the game like Dark.

If you ever hear Flakes explain the game and his thoughts, you'll hear him say: "Let him touch the ball, because it doesn't do anything" a lot. At 35:30 you can see that he forces Dark to use up all of his boost to keep the ball from falling into Flakes' hands, but all it does is put him into an even worse situation, where he just leaves the ball in the midfield and has to back off to grab some pads. Flakes keeps doing the same until at 35:43 Dark finally gives away full possession. Edit: Also, imagine what Flakes could do if he actually gets consistent with his flicks or if he finds teammates who play the same way. RLCS would change completely.
@FvkingHandleNames Жыл бұрын
You also know that flakes is insane with mechanics, can do multiple resets, can easily do doubles, can easily flick etc. I think that swtiching cars he messes up his flicks cause of their different hitboxes sometimes, or just a mistake of the moment, he usually is very consistent

Flakes was considered one of the best individual players in RLCS when he played it. But he couldn't find people back then that valued possession and ended up quitting. I think he was ahead of his time. While RLCS players are definitely more mechanical than him and probably faster (he didn't keep up and is getting "old"), I think the meta has pretty much shifted to a playstyle very similar to what he envisioned. Flakes coming back to literally around 50 new mechanics/possibility’s and a generally more mechanical way of playing since when he consistently played last and still keeping up with the new prodigy’s is a level above insane

I love watching flakes play the lack of high lvl mechanics makes him look like he is playing in one of my lobbies but then he has phenomenal game sense that allows him to play and beat other pros even in 1v1s

Flakes is doing exactly what he does in Road to SSL with No Mechanics and it’s honestly amazing

I love to see dark playing, outstanding moves, really satisfying. But flakes man... flakes is just too good, if he never misses what he wanted to do and had a computer brain, I'd say he would be near perfect

Sure the way Flakes plays isn't the most flashy, but damn is he consistent. And I appreciate anyone who doesn't use the same 3 cars

This highlights the urgent need for Epic to include decent game iq tutorials rather than just telling you how to hit the ball. If they do that it'll also sort out their ranked problem to a large degree.
