Thanks for this video. It explains why my S866 LCD is not working with my controller. My S866 LCD display is same as yours with the PAS display on the left. This LCD display has the Yellow and Blue wire swapped. Once I have corrected this and matched the rest of the wires with my controller, this LCD display works with my ebike properly

@@1nformatica I don't think is a one of mistake but rather there are two version of the S866 LCD. The 'newer' LCD display (with a different display layout) I have tried matches color code and pin number to my controller with no changes. With your information, I can adapt my older S866 display to my new motor controller and save some $$. Thanks again

Very helpful, thanks. Unfortunately I've gone spent a load of money on a DSO I hadn't intended to buy now as a result of seeing your fab bit of kit. Incidentally, on some displays I've seen not only functions swapped between the non red and black wires, but also a white instead of yellow wire.

Hello! Great video! 👍 Even after 3 months without any problems, I have the S866 display on the scooter like in this video and 48V 1000W motor with 48V 24ah battery. Ok then I charge the battery to 54.6V and connect it and turn on the display and suddenly E-10 code and there was no more gas! I checked the motor with a measuring device for the motor and controller with lamps and motor great only the controller no power on Hall sensors and motor cable so I saw red blue black green yellow on the display cable plug that the display on red and black 54.6V but on blue only 44V and green and yellow has 53.6V! So the controller doesn't turn on and then I plugged a red and blue cable into the display connector from the display and bridged it and lo and behold the controller is now switched on all the time because of the bridging of the red plus cable 54.6V to the blue display Cable that only has 44V. So E-Code10 is gone and it drives again but when I turn off the display it still drives! What's going on please?? Can you please help me?? How many volts should the blue display cable have at the cable connector? Mine has 44V and the controller is a Pedelec 48V 500/750W 26A Current. Do I have to order a new display or can I fix the error that the blue cable on the display plug turns the controller on again? Because now all the cables have red black 54.6V and yellow and green 52.4V only the blue one that switches on the controller only has 44V! How many volts does the blue cable have to have if the voltage of the 48V battery when charged is exactly 54.6V? PLEASE help because I drove for 3 months without any problems and just switched it on and suddenly there is an E-10 code and no more gas because according to the multimeter the blue cable only has 44 volts! Can I fix this or swap the blue and yellow cables e.g. blue-yellow and yellow to blue? I now have red and blue bridged with a cable on the display connector. How many volts does the blue cable on the display connector have to have? Kind regards.

The correct wire colour and functions are as shown here : kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2ian6V9etl6pJY In my case the wiring was wrong on the new display from the factory and I had to swap the blue and yellow wires. You really need an oscilloscope or logic probe to test the display to find the transmit wire if it is not yellow. Also error 10 is a communications error so there may be many reasons, broken wires or loose connections. Check the cable looms carefully, I have found before there are connectors in the looms which can pull apart. Also of course either the display or controller can be faulty. Good luck!

Thank you for posting. I have the same (or similar) model scooter (Speedway Pro V2) but I need to change the accelerator/throttle assembly. I cannot find anything to guide me. I am guessing I need to remove the rubber grips first so that I can remove the brake and then slide off the throttle assembly? If so, is there some trick to removing these rubber grips? I unscrewed the metal clamp, but that didn't help me at all and pulling these grips off the handlebar is my obstacle at this point. Do I need to remove them in order to change the throttle, or is there some trick I am missing here? Would appreciate any guidance or some link to perhaps another relevant video you've done in the past. Thank you

You mention these displays can be 24V, 36V, or48V I have one that is 24V, but I have a 48V Bafang e-bike motor. How do I change the display from 24 to 48V? The display has setting options for changing the voltage, but the problem is I can't power up the display to access it! Is there an easy way to temporarily power up the display so I can get into the settings? I do have a programming cable, but still haven't found a way to change it. I can't get the display to power up. Any suggestions?

Hi, the rectangular black 5 pin connector supplied with the new controller is called an "SM" or "JST" connector. I had to cut the wires to put the 5 pin green round connector the scooter used. Thanks for watching, have a great day!

if you have one of the flat JST connectors you can use a safety pin or a tiny screwdriver in the tiny square hole on the side of the plug to pull out the pins. and then you can swap the pins to the proper hole. tho if you have one of the round Jullet 5 pin connectors the only way i can think of switching the wires around without cutting into the wire would be to carefully open the case and desolder the wires from the board and then resolder them in the proper order they need to be.

Clearly the case is not designed to be taken apart so proceed at your own risk! The only way is to force something like a craft knife between the two parts of the case and break the glued joint. I had a head start as the case was chipped in the corner where the LCD was cracked giving me a way in. As you will need to reseal the case to make it weather proof I think cutting the cable is a much easier option! Good luck! Thanks for watching, have a great day!

In many cases the communications error is caused by a loose connection or broken wire. There are often push connectors buried in the cable loom, these can come loose or get pulled apart. I have a folding bike which had this error after being folded. A connector had come loose and just pushing it back together fixed the problem. Otherwise the LCD panel or controller could be faulty. can you tell me what the connections are to the original connector? I don't know what pin numbers correspond to the original round connector.When I hold the female connector with the notch at the top and go anticlockwise from the notch starting that to the left is pin one if you understand my method. My display is completely dead. I have +battery voltage on pin 5 and - battery on pin 4, is that the same is the one you fixed? Thanks for any help you can give. Otherwise you will need to go through the process I show here : kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2ian6V9etl6pJY to identify the power then the signal wires. You could also email the bike manufacturer but I wouldn't hold my breath!!

Hey there! I have the same exact display on my e-bike and it stopped working, just don't switch on anymore. Although if I keep pressing the power button for more than 3 seconds the motor kicks in when I pedal or when I rotate the throttle. Do you have any idea what it can be?

@@1nformatica thanks for your quick response. The other buttons do not respond, just the central one (power button), allows current to pass to the engine when pressed for more than 3 seconds. And you need to keep pressing it without releasing. I.e. I can ride the bike with the electrical motor but I need to be constantly pressing the power button on the display (without releasing it) for the throttle or pedal assist sensor to respond. Apart from that, nothing works.

@@joaop.carvalho842 Really you need to test the display as I show here : kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2ian6V9etl6pJY even if you do not have an oscilloscope you can test the voltages with a meter. Also check the cabling. I had a problem once where the display did not work because there was a connector loose in the wiring harness. Unwrap the spiral plastic and follow the display cable down. You may find a loose connection or damaged wire. Good luck!
