I appreciate this video. I knit socks by hand and wondered how it was done commercially.

Machine go brrr. It moves so fast no one is sure what it's doing, besides socks pop out. It's the final evolutionary path of the sock. If the machine ever breaks you can kiss socks good bye because it means certain extinction for socks.

If you increase the minimum wages then they will just up the prices on everything else. We have increased the minimum wage multiple times and yet we still have the same problem.

Manufacturers don't pay minimum wage anyway. Fast food and retail pays minimum wage. When you raise the minimum wage, then there are simply fewer jobs for people who work those jobs, typically teenagers, and they don't need a "livable wage" anyway.

Yes I understand that but we need to make sure companies dont get away with that. My problem is that even if they pay minimum wage, it still isnt enough money for people to feed their kids. They may have people from other countries (legal) who are willing to work for min wage. What then? We need a higher minimum wage!

Those jobs are not made to buy a house or feed a family. Anybody stuck with minimum wage jobs should never have kids. What a terrible stupid behavior.

@bildo016211 жыл бұрын
You guys are clueless. Customers are only willing to pay a certain amount. Typically, whoever has the least expensive product sets the price. Products can be manufactured in China for a tiny fraction of the labor cost here. If a company charges more for an American made sock, then the customers will buy the Chinese socks and the American company will go out of business. If the American company lowers their prices, then they won't make enough to pay their employees.

Buying local keeps your country from becoming a 4th world one. Buy local, buy the best quality. Cheapness shouldnt be the one and only determining factor.
