DK TIP! DK's cargo back throw can kill at high percents (120% or higher) at each sides of any stages. At early percent (0% to 10%) cargo grab your opponent and then cargo d-throw for them to hit the stage and then follow up with d-tilt twice and then follow up again with a dash attack. This combo can also lead into a f-air spike and this works on heavy to some middle weight classes.

Great guide!! one tip you missed that I can think of is cargo f throw is the earliest killing throw off stage. cargo down throw is probably the second best off stage throw & is great against characters with bad recoveries .

Is there a list of moves that DK can super armor through with his punch? Seeing some of these interactions and I never realized that he superarmors through Peach/Daisy side-B.

Well the super armor is on frames 11-20 and the punch is active 19-20 so as long as you aren’t being hit frames 1-10 you punch will go through the move 🤛

That's interesting to know. I had no clue at first that it had super armor, so I often was more timid during approaches when I wanted to land it. Now knowing that I get 9 frames of super armor, it's much more advantageous. Thanks!

@@mtehreaper You should also probably note that Punch has fewer super armor frames when he uses punch in the air (just 17-20), and if you initiate the attack in the air, but land during frames 12-17 there is a glitch and you will receive no super armor frames :(

Sweet guide! I wanted to ask, I often see Tweek using cargo up throw while on the ground, ie. without the whole usual ding dong motion. It seems to get pretty good followups - my take is that maybe you can utilize still having your double jump after up airing, and that it's better for lower percents when it's easier to reach your opponent. I haven't done much of any real testing though. Also I think b-reversed down b has crazy potential but I'm bad at always pulling it off, have you tried using it much? Wanted to know if you have any thoughts, cheers

WastedFlan hey yeah, grounded cargo up throw can true combo to an up air and then can be followed up at low percents with another up air and can be true based on percent and character. B reversing down B is a good situational option for landing, combos, or spiking. There is one clip in the vid that I b reverse it while landing

Whats your recommendation for going against characters that are combo heavy, like Mario and Luigi? I have a hard time getting any hits in because they tap me once and I'm st 60% damage when they're done, if not dead. I try to engage for single hits here and there, so far the best way to land any damage that I've come up with is grounded up-b, dash attack into uair/bair/fair, but that only works so many times. What are some good options so I don't get left on read so often? Also, solid guide my dude, I liked being able to see the combos as you described them, that helps a ton

Honestly you have to accept that you’re gonna take that 60% from characters like Mario as long as you’re DI’ing in a way that makes it most difficult to continue the combo. All of the ways you said are basically the best ways to get in with the most emphasis on back air, reverse aerial double bair etc. Just make sure you’re optimizing you’re grabs and combos. Also don’t forget about d tilt, ftilt, and up tilt. You can also go for things like back air to an aerial up b. Abuse the better super armor on grounded up b. And very important just work on your movement in general to escape better and to change the times you approach. And then a solid counterpick character doesn’t hurt either if your dk is solid and it just won’t cut it.

R Vann bowser likes to get in similar to dk, space him out with things like 2 back airs out of a short hop reverse aerial rush or one back air and jump away. Work on your up air juggles since he’s such a big target. Because he likes to be in your face abuse your super armor, at high percents go for the side b mix up when landing or use giant punches to seal the stocks and muscle through his attacks. And of course don’t forget that dk can get things out of grabs at any percents if he starts to catch on and gets shield heavy
