It's cool, watching Ultimate Pokemon Trainer you realize that they play the way Zelda/Shiek was supposed to play in Melee, but for real this time. Transforming mid match to gain a different moveset with different strengths. You genuinely have that here. Ivy is mid percent kill power and edgeguarding, Charizard is strong defense and recovery, and Squirtle is quick combos and early stock damage. They create incentive to switch not by depowering you if you stay as a character for too long, but by giving each one specific situations that they absolutely SHINE in.

Man, I love Pokémon Trainer. I always thought Ivysaur sucked as a kid in Brawl because of his up b but playing him in Ultimate and watching this vid proved he is a DEVASTATING character

Watching round three made me realize that Leffen's weakest link has to be his Charizard. He only used it when his percentage was high and all it did was get tossed most of the time. Like when he went for the jab and got thrown off stage. He should have grabbed to down throw. My point is that he only uses Charizard at hight percent and just changes back. Charizard himself can rack up some strong damage. I really want Leffen to show Charizard off a little more.

Damn that game 3. Leffen is now one of my favorite Pokemon trainers, the other being Ned. I see Leffen having the better Ivysaur while Ned has the better Squirtle. I can't wait to see what they have instore for the future.

avoid rolling around evasively or mindlessly dash dancing. define your neutral with short hop aerials if your opponents doing that a lot. also, remember that if you can jump on squirtle's head when he's in his shell, you'll flip him over and get a free kill.

DK is bad because there is nothing he can do vs ivysaur. if he is offstage, ivysaur's dair will ALWAYS spike DK.its insane
