Hey Toby! I would prefer to take a walk right now, but instead I need to study for the CAE exam. I would rather they did not require these incredible grammar skills from us... However, I would rather not have chosen French as second language, with respect to the even more unmanageable subjonctif!!! I would rather the weather be rainy today so that I don't feel bad about sitting at my desk. I would rather I had not signed up for the exam... (No, actually I don't regret it, but I can't recall anything that I really regret right know out of the wish to practise the would rather subject had - structure). After all, I would rather you had not considered firing Monica... She ist utterly fun. P.S. I would rather you do never stop publishing videos!!!

Thanks for the lesson. I've got a question concerning "would rather". Is this phrase dedicated to general preference?. I thought it was connected with a specific one. As it is shown in the video. "-Would you like to dance with me?" "-I'd rather not" Isn't it specific preference? We're saying what we don't want now, not in general
