I have no idea why Zeitgeist didn't get the recognition it deserved. This album to me--is a masterpiece of Corgan's lyricism and guitar combined with Chamberlain's brilliance. It's even hard to find online now. It's not on Spotify even, which is a goddamn shame.

I hate that it's not on Spotify, especially since their new album is and I'd love to mix as many of their classics together in a playlist. I love Zeitgeist, but to hazard a guess as to why it wasn't as well received or remembered as a lot of their other music - Pumpkins fans seem to be REALLY era-defined, and resistant to appreciating anything beyond a certain point. Some hate anything after Mellon Collie. Some can't stomach anything after Gish. I'm not sure there's another fan base like it. There was an interview with Corgan where he even said how tired he was having fans come up to him and say "I love Album X, but I hate everything you did after it" 🤦♂😅

I feel the same way. This album used to be available on streaming platforms a long time ago, but one day Corgan removed it alleging that people hated it. It's a shame indeed

Billy Corgan has to be my favorite songwriter of all time. His melodies are always gorgeous, and I'm just amazed at how many brilliant alternative rock songs he's come up with.

Breaks my heart that Layne passed how he did and that him, Jerry, Billy, Mike Starr (R.I.P.) and Jimmy never got the chance to collab together. I love how Billy wrote this ode to him, Jerry and Alice In Chains. One of my favorite songs by the Pumpkins.

Song tells a lot about our generation and the impact the music of this era had on our generation as a collective

If life is my witness Love is my song If nothing means no one Then blank, I belong If fear conquers easy I can lead on Milk from the flower Blood from the dawn So here we are Upon your stage The laughs we shared The dreams we saved Bleeding the orchid We're bleeding the orchid Bleeding the orchid Blessed my weakness Blessed my wrongs As hate forms the sequence Of one by one As freedoms die easy We suffrage the want There's clouds in my shower Ghosts in my arms Youth is where you are Faith some sinner's child We're bleeding the orchid We're bleeding the orchid Bleeding the orchid Gilded art this silent march past triumph thru alarm So thus charmed Does this will stand for much? But heart's untouched by heart's unloved Bleeding the orchid Bleeding the orchid Here we are Upon your stage The love we share The dreams we'll save They're bleeding the orchid They're bleeding the orchid They're bleeding the orchid Bleeding the orchid

I remember buying this album in Hong Kong. I don’t know what happened to it but, it was cool to listen to walking through Stanley Market in Wanchai.
