I never realized how complex and difficult that song is for a drummer. Great job nailing it! It's amazing how the 2 hands and 2 feet can work in unison sometimes, and sometimes take 4 separate paths during a song.

Brilliant song, brilliant cover. Honestly, Jimmy Chamberlain is a phenomenal drummer, I mean, just listening to his drum parts, you can hear the complexity. Yet, each part sits perfectly with the songs, which is incredible. To have the ability to cover it, I mean, that is some mad skills there. Seriously. Bravo. Meytal is a serious drummer. Anyone that doubts that needs to watch more of her videos.

hes one of my faves. along with abe cunningham. totally different styles and grooves. both awesome though!
@nickparsons3372 жыл бұрын
@@tma78 Hell yeah man. Deftones wouldn't be Deftones without him. If Abe wasn't there, they would sound a lot different. Most people don't understand how integral a drummer is for an individual bands overall sound. You think Rush would be Rush without Neil Pert; or Tool without Danny Carey would still be Tool? Fuck no.
@tma782 жыл бұрын
@@nickparsons337 yeah abes decision to use a single kick drum over the usual doubles in a heavier sounding band also contributed. But its his timing and his groove. Ever since the first album. Pretty sure even critics when it was released were surprised at the drumming and overall sound for their age at the time.

I played drums for a number of years, played in the school band in Year 7, (I'm now over 50) and you make everything look easy. I love the fact that your drumming is incredibly efficient in movement, you don't throw your arms around, you just strike with enough energy to get the desired sound/result. This is a skill, and you are really good.

As long as the smile isn't in response to the massive pressure we put on women to smile all the time, I love it. It's ridiculous the way we expect women to do what makes them most attractive for us to look at, including smiling when maybe they're feeling something other than any of the myriad things that might put a huge smile on their face. I know the only times I smile when I'm drumming are when I've just pulled off something cool or when one of my bandmates has done the same, but I'm also a man nearing middle age, and I don't have a lot of pressure to look beautiful when I'm really concentrating to make great music. Some people are naturally smiling most of the time, even when drumming (Dave Grohl, anyone?), but a lot of the time your concentration face tends not to look that way, and it's unrealistic to expect beautiful women to smile at all times just because it pleases those of us looking at them.

Bizarrely enough, even though you’ve done an incredible amount of covers, and personally written stuff that you’ve posted, this is probably my favorite video of yours EVER. You just did all the appropriate, important things; emphasizing the right details in the part Jimmy Chamberlain wrote, too. And to top it all of, your energy in this was the best I’ve seen from you! You and Colm Dowling are probably tied, in my book, of doing the best KZbin drum covers of this track. Sick job, Meytal, this was impressive as hell!
