All acoustic is better then electric because they feel it more and less editing or processing.
@michaelwatson747910 жыл бұрын
This song sounds really good on acoustic, shows how strong the melody is when its not saturated in layers of processed guitar as on the album version.
@Chrisfathead8 жыл бұрын
Michael Watson I have to say this is one of the rare songs that I think is actually not as good unplugged. I think the distortion on the electric guitars kind of takes the song to a different level
@chrisconnor54187 жыл бұрын
yea this song and rocket sound way better on the album. the level of wizardry that went into those guitar layers is insane
@c-force52175 жыл бұрын
I’d rather take the album version tbh, it’s just heavier with the distortion and it takes it to a new level

The solo in the album version is way better but the song lends itself well as the chorus gets this sweet cutty feel and the light drums feel cherubic

@@someboneheadlittle late here but basically Billy is an egomaniac and was a dick to most of the band mates. He and Darcy either dated or had some sort of intimate relationship at some point which made Billy even more of a dick to her when she moved on. I know he said on a podcast that they haven’t spoken since the early 2000s.

Man I miss this stuff. How come no current bands are willing to take chances like this and do something different? When Billy Corgan first started screaming like this some people thought he was crazy. But it's part of what made them so famous
@pistol34510 жыл бұрын
because everybody rips music off the internet for free. Thus there isn't enough money to risk on a group whose future is uncertain. Labels only want to sign groups that have a huge following already, and that they know will get played on the radio. Now everything sounds the same because that pleases "the masses". Goddamn Napster...
@pistol34510 жыл бұрын
^ this is true. There are a ton of original and creative musicians out there, but they never make it on the radio because of the reasons stated above. You just have to dig to find the good stuff these days.

Dang, i was recalling waiting for that killer guitar solo climax, but I guess Billy decided it didn't work on acoustic.
@youreallygotmenow48554 жыл бұрын
Well, Billy definitely made the right choice. Hitting those squealing artificial harmonics and those crazy bends high up on the neck was mission impossible on an acoustic. Getting the sonic climax of the original solo was also impossible due to the manual tape flanging that was done in the studio for the album version. I mean, you can't seriously expect him to try to do the solo like the original here. He had to find an alternative for the solo and I think he found a very tasteful one.
