@@Calvin-ek9bb haha, yes, when you put it like that...Billy can write a lovely romantic ballad when he chooses to, can't he? But I'm guessing that whoever it was written for, it wasn't D'arcy Wretzky. James might have, but not in 1995 I'm thinking...they'd already busted up by then...that's never a good look in a band, is it? Something about not shitting where you eat, hmm, although I apologise for the crudity....

I was 4 lol... but I was a big metalhead because of my dad. He was big into iron maiden, sabbath, motorhead, but also had a punk faze si loved the pistols as well as prog like genesis and pink floyd etc... the latter (prog) I didn't get into until recently due to a stoner metal phase I'm into which is very close to prog blues lol. I love blues too so recently got into lighter stuff like blues rock, led zeppelin, rolling stones hendrix (stuff that wasn't heavy enough when I was younger but now I'm 30 I appreciate the blues a while lot more, genuinely love muddy waters and BB). Which has brought me to these beauties... never gave them any time for whatever unknown reason but as I'm into a lot of fuzz pedal using bands I had to give them a listen and I've been listening to them all day since the first song. Love the grunge but also punky as well as the blues rock solos mixed in - they are an incredible band and I don't know how I missed being a fan of them when I was younger.

I remember hearing this on the radio for the first time when I was 11. Me and my friends, immediately obsessed, singing it and all of our parents hated it. My best friend at the time convinces his parents to buy "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" for him (only child)... he gives it to me behind his parents back a week after my birthday. Bill, if you're reading this, you were the best friend anyone could have ever asked for.

My last dog passed away in 2015 but for years her favorite thing in the world was to jump in my jeep and ride around town, tongue out, head out the back window. But before every ride I'd always put on my best Corgan voice and ask her "Wanna go for a riiide?" After years of this, not even thinking about it, watching music videos in the living room, this comes on and boy, when he delivers that line in the same cadence I'd been for years, you've never seen a dog's head whip around so fast!

Xavier Morales You can't really place them. You can only really trace their orgins back to the grunge era and the late 90's early 2000 goth, more darker era. They fit into many genres musically. Alot of good bands can pull that off. However, they never touched emo territory. I love emo, but definitely not something SP ever sounded like. I think it's considered whatever you think it is, or as you remember it. Look at these silly people almost fighting about the subject. Just listen to the music, watch the video and enjoy the memories it gives you.

You can tell even in the video Corgan doesn't give it the energy this song deserves. My god he stopped a show in the 90s because the crowd was moshing too hard! The rest of the band has always been a favorite of mine but Corgan has always been a party pooper. But this song is sooooooo good. Love it
