You’d only get shocked in water if it has salt in it, as water itself has a very high resistance, so it protects you from getting a shock unless you get like within less than a certain distance from a wire that’s in it. Also depends on the voltage and stuff

I figured out why putting a vacuum cleaner in water and then back out causes the motor to burn up- it's because the water gets inside its motor and washes the grease out, which causes the motor parts to heat up from friction.
