Undertale - Flowey Talks About Sans & Papyrus (BIG SPOILERS)

SUPER SPOILERS BELOW, BUT IF YOU'RE FINE WITH THAT PLEASE READ THIS
HOW TO :
After you have completed the neutral ending, If you reload your save at the barrier and decide to re-fight Asgore after defeating him and Omega Flowey for the first time, some secret dialogue appears when you fight Asgore and beat the game multiple times. Each time you defeat Asgore you'll spawn back at the barrier.
The first time I had gotten the different dialogue I was caught off guard and didn't expect it to be there, therefor it isn't shown in the video, here is the transcript though :

First she'll say that someone has to care for the flowers (like Asriel) then she'll ask you if you have anything better to do. I think Sans, after he asks you if you are following him, will ask you if you have anything better to do as well.

Flowey is so *freaking tragic*. I mean, seriously. Not only had he been trapped in an infinite time-loop for ages, but despite the artificial DETERMINATION Alphys injected into him he had no purpose or way of reaching any sort of fulfillment. Asriel only desired love, but Flowey couldn't feel anything. The fact that such a pitiful, soulless creature only did good things with the RESET power at first is a testament to what a good person Asriel had been. But without a soul, no wonder Flowey went crazy after a while. I actually can't blame him. He honestly tried to be good. But how could he without compassion, or conscience?

Flowey is a lot like most players I know. You start with “the good rout”. The pacifist. You play through, and get the happy ending. Then you go back, explore the dialogue options you didn’t choose the first time. You insult Papyrus in stead of being friendly. You tell Sans that you don’t know anything about a talking flower. You tell Undyne that anime isn’t real. Small, innocent things like this. Maybe you explore a bit more, find the abandoned quiche, or many of the other hidden Easter eggs. You edit the game files to find the Gaster followers, or the sound test room, or get called by Sans or Alphys in Snowdin. And then you start killing. First a few, then more. You check different combinations. What if I spare everyone but kill Asgore? What if I spare Papyrus but kill Undyne? What if I kill all the bosses but leave the random encounter monsters free? Then, slowly, you inch towards genocide. And then there’s no way back.

The funny truth is Flowey isn't really as evil as you think he is. He's just choosing to do what he does because he has seen all that the world has to offer. But you probably knew THAT already.

After a while he becomes so jaded that he takes some sort of pleasure in doing what he does even if deep down he still wishes he could go back to being his true self. Illucchi 【イルッチ】 Well, SPOILERS from the Genocide and Pacifist route : You learn a bit before Sans fight that Flowey got the same power of DETERMINATION as you, aka the Save points (yeah a character from a video game who got his own save points, pretty meta). [We learn in the True Lab of the Pacifist route that it is thanks ti the experimentation of Alphys on DETERMINATION that he got that]. Flowey basically "played" the game and tried everything he could, which probably include fighting Sans; which, as we learn in the Genocide route, is really hard to beat (... I'm still trying). Which is why Flowey had to try and reset a lot.

Like...Lets take GenoSans for example, who remembers all the kills he got on you, then early Sans, whos confused about you shaking his hand before he even asked. Since Floweys ultimately the only one who knows every move you made its possible at one point within his resets, Sans stopped him. Then another time, he didnt. Then possibly he did his own genocide and killed everyone, and RESET to do it all again.

* Lemme explain this. * Sans is the easiest enemy. * The DETERMINATION powers in battle for Frisk and Flowey are the first turn and the dodge for them and the impossibility of dodge for the enemy. * At LV 19, Sans takes your DETERMINATION powers, but for the you can't dodge part the attacks are just difficult but not impossible. * You can kill Sans JUST because it's the character attacking him. * In the Imma trow the box at the FIGHT box moment YOU use your turn, but then it's Frisk at attacking. * Flowey is not controlled by the player, so he wasted his turn in that moment and Sans killed him again. * This is why Flowey actually CAN'T finish a Genocide run. * This is why Flowey gave up against Sans.

Everyone's saying how this means that Flowey was killed by Sans... No, it doesn't. It means that Sans has, many times, tormented Flowey to the point where he feels his only option is to Reset. That doesn't mean repeated death. That just means... Torment. And knowing Sans, it was a perpetual stream of jokes. Sarcastic comments. Too-specific insults about his parentage. Too-bright smiles and too-loud laughter. Slow, careful, planned, clever, torture. Without even physical contact. Sans could probably find a way to drive Flowey almost to insanity, by following him wherever he went, not giving him an inch of space. The small, annoying things that make us all angry. Not just them, too. The little things that bullies do to get us. The snide comments, the quick remarks. Not the beatings, but the everying-in-betweens. Sans could do it all, every hour of every day, until Flowey finally snaps. Except, when Sans dies, Papyrus will torment him as well. Perhaps not as knowingly, not carefully, but Papyrus *will* torment him. He will mourn his brother, and as he does he will come to his only friend. To his little flower buddy, who whispers praise and predictions. He'll cry, often for hours, and he'll rant helplessly about how much he misses his brother, until Flowey snaps again. Either out of a sudden realisation that he has a conscience, and a fear of all the guilt suddenly crashing down on him, or out of pure annoyance at having to deal with this snivelling skeleton. "But why would Sans do all this? What reason could Sans have to hate Flowey? We all have our reasons, but what reason would Sans have?" ... Is probably not what you're saying. Whatever. Because of what Flowey has been doing to his brother. Papyrus thinks it's kind, and encouraging, and so much nicer than anyone else is to him. But Sans, when he's told of all the things Flowey has been saying (and he will have been told. Can you imagine Papyrus keeping quiet about a new friend?) will see hear the sarcasm, the cruel intentions, even when the words are coming out his brother's mouth. If we go to Grillbyz with Sans, he asks us if we've seen a talking flower, and to tell us if we see one, so he obviously wants to find Flowey. The way his eyes go black show that he has some pretty dark plans for when he gets his hands on the little weed. I imagine that the only reason he hasn't in that timeline is because Flowey hid himself, very carefully, after all the trouble that the angry, concerned, overprotective brother has caused him. I'm sorry if this sounds like it was written by a Victorian, forgive me. I've been watching a disproportionate amount of Jane Austen films lately. I'm afraid they have done no good for my poor nerves.

Sans wouldn't do that though. If you played the genocide route you would know how seriously sans takes his role as the judge. Even if you threaten and kill papyrus, all sans will do is threaten you. It isn't until you're at the final point of no return that sans duty will allow him to step in. So the fact that sans caused Flowey to reset so many times meant that Flowey was trying to go the genocide route as well but never actually succeeded because sans would force him to reset. Sans loves papyrus, but he won't actually step in past a few threats against someone until they try to literally kill all life.

That "Don't you have anything better to do" line gets me so upset, considering how many times Flowey/Asriel says it in the game. Besides this, there's two other occasions I know of where he says it. One is if you complete the pacifist run and go back all the way to the first room, the one you woke up in at the start of the game. Asriel is there, and you can talk to him. He'll say some stuff that isn't really important to my point, talks about Chara and stuff, and then finishes. If you try to talk to him again, he'll say, "Don't you have anything better to do, Frisk?" The other time I know of is if you start the beginning of the game over a few times. And by this I mean, you shouldn't get very far past the first time you meet Flowey before resetting. If you do it a few times, instead of his normal speech, Flowey will go, "Don't you have anything better to do?" and enter combat with you. There are probably other times he says it that I don't know of, but that line bothers me a lot considering it's really just a "I have nothing left to say to you" line. It's like Sans's 'special attack', it's just meant to annoy you and get you frustrated until you give up on talking to him. And I *hate it.*

I don't understand why this wasn't in the video, though. It's like trying to describe a 0.5x A press run several paragraphs down in the desc. and expecting people to read it, albeit probably more noticable. Even then, the thumbnail is still misleading when you think it's gonna be in the video.

Again if you had *coughs*READTHEDESCRIPTION, there's an explanation WHY it isn't in the video. If you'd like to experience it just go play the actual game dude, because guess what, in the DESCRIPTION there's details on how to do so yourself. The screenshot I took for the thumbnail was the only evidence I had recorded of the script being said. I expected people to read the description from the glaringly stand-out, all caps text, but ah well. If you're still disappointed, well wh... ??? I dunno', tell me more about how disappointed you are over something I didn't expect. Sorry bud.

If you have ever heard of IHE, he gives a very good example as to how little people pay attention to thumbnails in his Comment Comeback on "I Hate Tumblr." Anyway, if at the end of the video you told people to check in the desc. for this information, it definitely would be a lot clearer. Not trying to be mean or rude or anything like that, just trying to give some constructive criticism, you know?

I understand but I don't usually MAKE these kinds of videos, this is the only video I've ever made where it's just a clip of a video game lmao, I have no intention to "clickbait" anyone because of the thumbnail or anything, god forbid. (And yes I do watch IHE, but not that specific video.) I'll stick up an annotation or something if it bothers you that much tho, even though I dislike annotations because I find them obnoxiously distracting. You're the first to ever say something so if I get a anymore people wondering I'll probably do it.

It’s strange. A part of me wishes you could full on partner up with Flowey without any betrayals at the end. If you’re doing all routes, it’s likely you have the exact same motivation as him. Just getting to see everything the world has to offer. I also really like how Flowey refers to Papyrus straight up as a “character” it really hammers on that he’s gone through so many resets that he no longer sees people as people anymore as he already knows everything they have to say.
