As a child of a member of the military, I can remember the way my mom's face used to light up when she saw my Dad walk through the front door, I hold total respect for all of the wives, children, and parents of a military member can be just as difficult as being in the military sometimes, and I think that in this song Scotty chose to respect that side of the life just as much as the other side.

Being a U.S. Army service member I thank him for incorporating military in there. and I respect him for taking the name tapes and unit patches off of the uniform as well. no I don't find it a stolen valor.

It's actually not their choice. Something has to be wrong with the uniforms when service members are portrayed in any movie, tv show, or music video. It's federal law. Most of the time the costume department will just take the velcro and move it, because the military has specific regs on where the name and rank velcro has to be. A lot of the time, this is enough for the to not get in trouble.

You make crazy amazing new friends and travel the world, but at the same time you may hate the formations and physical aspect. Each person reacts differently.
