The audio shop i went to never removed lc2i when installing aftermarket head unit. This video kind of explains why i cant turn up the volume as high since its using the high level input instead of the rcas, not many videos comparing aftermarket deck high level vs low level thanks for the helpful info.

My DD1 is absolutely the best tool I've ever purchased. But the Phonic seems to show the distortion before the DD1 detects it.

I have a pioneer avhx5800 bhs and I want to set my sub amp gains with a dmm.what sub level should I set on my head unit when adjusting my amp gains?thank you.

Question folks. If i use the radio for door speakers with no external amp and the deck power maxes out at 32, but I have a monoblock amp should I set the gain at vol 32 or wherever volume the radio distorts at the amp which may be 38 since I'm using USB for the most part.

Ok I got what might be a stupid question. I had a DD1/CC1 combo but it was stolen which sux so bad. Anyway, ok so this kenwood max's out at max volume with a +4 offset. But you had the sub set at 0. As I recall I was able to use a Kenwood BT958HD and I got the same result, BUT I was able to turn the sub output up to +7 or +9 and still get no distortion. Am I remembering wrong or not? You guys should definitely add this step to your DD1 videos. Lemme know, cause now I'm scared to turn my sub up at all.

+Robert Clark IV no you are connect, if you don't use the volume offset you can turn the sub volume up more before it will clip.

Nelda Cardenad it allows you to compensate for differences in volume depending on the source

So if you can volume offset in aux mode that means if you turn it up max at 0 volume offfset thats not full power of stereo?

+Nelda Cardenad yeah so if you max out at 40 and the radio is not clipping, you can go to the SLA and turn it up more. This feature is there because not all devices have the same output. Some are less others are more.

It's going vary per phone and per source.

cvr24 in this case our phone is all the up. No clip coming from the phone. Some phones may not be so fortunate

Hi guys, I love the video's keep them coming! What I would like to see though, is a head power test with "three five ways" hooked up to the other speaker leads and actually playing the sound. The reason is, the head unit has such small power and ground leads, and the amperage load is so great, I can not believe clipping will not occur at a much lower volume level. My 490bs audibly clips on almost all music with the eq flat at about 23-25 volume level with four speakers when running on "deck power" alone. Its not the radio's nor the speaker's fault, its just not possible to get something for nothing?
