Thanks for this tutorial. This seems way harder than should be necessary. Why doesn't the inbuild QGIS Database Manager or Layer Properties > Fields area let you simply change the attributes of a particular field? Creating an entire duplicate of a table or creating an entirely new field, instead of simply being able to 'edit' an attribute seems a little crazy.

Thanks! I would like to know if there is any way of changing several field types at the same time. Whenever I add a CSV layer, all the fields automatically are set to "text" and sometimes I would like to change all of them at the same time.

If you delete borrocode, would borrocode2 become invalid as it referenced borrocode? Came here looking for a way to change the formula within fields

But what do you do with the temporary refactored layer and how do you make the changes to the original layer's attributes? Am i missing something?

As I say in the video, you can save it as a permanent layer. If you don't want to save as a new layer and keep using the original dataset, use the second option I mention in the video that involves the field calculator.
