About to pull the trigger on a ‘23 Premium in WRB with short-shift kit and STI shifter. They were willing to take $1200 off MSRP without any negotiation. It’s going to be my daily. My Rubicon Gladiator is just getting too many miles on it, but I’m keeping it. This channel has been an immense help! I don’t plan on anything other than new wheels, painted fenders, front lip spoiler and maybe BC coil overs. And Vredestein winter tires.

Got my sway bar on last weekend. Pretty simple install, but I wasn't smart like you and use gloves. That grease turns to like the stickiest grossest alien glue when it hits my skin 😅. Goin through the last few revisions on my full E85 tune, just found a local dyno today so gunna see what it actually makes in the next week or two. Fingers crossed to hit that 400 on the dot haha.

Can you go into more detail about the disconnect reference line to your wastegate? Can you do that without a tune? I want to get what I can while keeping my lifetime warranty. I know on the r32 gtr there was a restrictor in solenoid that was easy to remove and added easy power like 50 hp. Is it similar to that?

I've not had a good look around a VB wrx, so I'm curious where it tells you boost pressure? My guess is inbetween the dials, as the second screen from VA and previous is gone, and that's the only part of the cluster that's blocked by the wheel 😂

When I worked for the ole muscle car place, pretty much all of our "restoration" sheet metal was made in Taiwan by companies that mostly did "crash parts" aka stuff like that Sti fender. Even the higher priced "American" brands were literally in the same industrial complex as the other guys. They might have had reputation of being a better fit, but everyone in the trade knows that unless it's original OEM it needs to be worked. The kicker was that no matter what brand it was, the boxes ALL had the interchange part numbers for the other brands on it. On a couple occasions I've even come across one brand's sticker on top of the other one's sticker on the panel itself. And of course, the owner of my company was really in with one of the manufacturers and routinely sent either NOS original parts (usually not available on the aftermarket) to be tooled and put on the market as exclusive to us, or competitors' product to copy. Guy was a shady fuck for sure, but hey I'm not the millionaire with a 30+ year business.

​@@Smeedia Fitment on crash parts is no worse than stupid fiberglass body kits, actually it's a lot better than those things imo. And I guarantee you, you've got a 1/1000 chance of getting an absolutely perfect panel that won't need some adjustment no matter what brand you get. It's the nature of the industry. Sounds like you hit the jackpot, but it'll most definitely still need body work somewhere however minor it is. The thing that really grinded my gears with my old place was that customers would complain SO much about the fitment of the sheet metal. Now I could understand this perspective if the cars in question had been manufactured on a modern assembly line with modern tolerances, but they were 60s and 70s muscle cars, built by hand, questionable history... some of these cars from the factory had a half inch hood/fender gap for fuck's sake. We like to call stuff like that a Friday afternoon/Monday morning car. Hell, I know people who've found crushed up beer cans from the assembly line inside the panels, or other stuff like extra window cranks n shit. Quality control didn't really exist back then.

Did that for my Impreza ripped out the charcoal filter a swapped the OEM air filter for an AEM dry flow drop in filter and did the obvious Perrin pitch stop definitely made it feel quick on the butt dyno but by no means is it fast obviously since it's just an NA Impreza

Only 2022 wrx have APs avaliable right now, Cobb has not released an AP for the 2023s 🙏 ECUs are diffrent, the 23s also have diffrent turbos

I noticed at 1:00 your infotainment screen is the updated version with the updated climate controls. Was it like that already when you bought it, or did you update it via wifi or did you have the dealership update it for you at a later time? Man, blue needs a king size comforter or tarp on it. Didn't realize it would get that dusty in a shop. I don't understand the charcoal filter. The amount of emission that come out of the exhaust for ONE extra second of running, has to create more emissions than that filter prevents in a year. Anyways, I removed that charcoal filter on my wife's forester and you could really tell. More response and better gas mileage too. Theory: I wonder if the extra airflow doesn't change much, but the air hitting the MAF differently causes the "felt changes" as the ECU can make corrections quicker? 🤔

Both "blues" are looking good! I didn't see it asked in the comments, but did you put your WRX on the ground and get your suspension loaded before tightening up the new swaybar bolts? If not, you could be binding up the new bar just a bit in the rear. Otherwise love the progress!!
