For me I never got into the other flankers and I’ve stuck with the edt. It’s a go-to classic that you can never go wrong with. I smelled elixir after watching reviews online at my local Dillard’s and I immediately was shocked as I went “wow” audibly. I loved it at first sniff. I love how it’s completely different from the rest of the line. I’ve smelled a lot of fragrances majority that I have not bought as I didn’t think it was anything special enough for me personally to buy. I’ve got 10 fragrances within the last 6 years of being into the fragrance game. I’m only 20, so I’ve got more time but I’m not the type to collect hundreds of fragrances. I’ve got 2 niche and 8 designer colognes. It’s very hard for me these days to find a fragrance that doesn’t smell similar to the ones I already own or other ones I’ve smelled that I didn’t care to buy. It takes a lot to impress me with a fragrance since I have my specific scent taste if you will having the different fragrances I have even though it’s not a lot in comparison to other fragrance collectors. The scent for this one straight up reminds me of a Christmas candle. The saleswoman told me a lot of people were telling her they got that type of reminiscent scent as well. It’s not that it actually smells like a Christmas candle, but for me it reminds me of the holidays when I’m at home and the warm feeling of having Christmas/winter scented candles around the house with your Christmas tree hung up (I get a resinous smell like pine from the scent too). It immediately gave me a nostalgic feeling which I’ve never had a scent do that before. So, I will be buying a bottle. I’ve tested it on skin with a sample of only one small spray behind both my ears as I was going to work and didn’t wanna overwhelm anyone by spraying more. The projection was beautiful and a lot given those 2 small sprays. It lasted on my skin for 10+ hours. I could get faint whiffs of it the next morning too. So I can’t even imagine what spraying more would do. I think it’s the best out of the line. The edt is a signature go-to scent that will work for anything, but I can see why it’s too abrasive for some people. I personally like that, so that will be more of my casual scent as how I currently wear it. This one will be still good for casual wear, but def could be worn dressed up as opposed to the edt version. Though the price is a lot, I’m gonna wait till Black Friday to hopefully have a decent sale where the price for the fragrance significantly decreases.

Geat review. I was also blinded by the liqourice. This could have been marketed as a separate line. Hard to detect any Sauvage DNA in it. More of a Drakkar Noir/Van Cleef & Arpels Pour Homme DNA and a slightly Beau de Jour feel. Hellastrong and easily survives a shower. Smells classy, but you might annoy people if you go heavier the 1-2 sprays.

To me, the beginning smells like Drakkar Noir and then it's basically a power house of Lavender and lastly, it becomes something like a powerful version of Sauvage EDP. I like it but that price tho 😅

Where's mention of the SANDALWOOD?! Most gorgeous sandalwood fragrance I have ever smelled. Red twizzlers, sandalwood oil, & spice. Apparently this was the perfumers finale creation before his retirement - and he wanted to go out big. MFK has officially taken over as the perfumer for Dior.

@@ScentTrail So i got this sample 2 days ago on Friday.. It is amazing. I really like it. I don't really think it is a summer scent. It feels more like Cold weather would make this great. I sprayed it on and like 20 mins in it reminded me of Xmas time lol. I don't know why. Maybe the notes and how they mixed on my skin. It is great. Pricey... but great. I think i will wait til maybe Oct or so and buy it. It's worth a bottle but not to wear all year long. Lol i wrote a review on Fragrantica under JSC87 if you want to find it. Not at all.The 1978 Polo Green had Artemisia and Juniper berries. Artemisia has a reminiscent smell of licorice to my nose. You are right par. ⛳

Sauvage Elixir has stronger projection and is a dense scent. Harder to wear in hot climates. Layton is fresher and can easily be worn all year. It's a hard choice. Layton is a little more elegant while Elixir is deeper and darker . Layton during the day🌞 Elixir at night 🌙 😉
