Hi Josephine, I've only just discovered you maybe a week or two ago, but I've already watched dozens of your videos, and I know enough to know that not only are you stunningly beautiful, but you really know your stuff! I completely trust your reviews and appreciate your taste, so I ordered Scherzo and the biggest La Feuille, and I could not be more pleased with them both! I'm usually someone who only sprays maybe four sprays- two into the air and then on my pulse points and rub behind the ears. With La Feuille, I've become a complete over sprayer because I just can't get enough of this perfectly blended fragrance! It's definitely going to be my signature scent, and I'm just over the moon about it. Thank you so much for highlighting this brand and La Feuille in particular! Speaking about “Niche Fragrances” I was trying out Armani Privé fragrances today at the local Douglas store. My moms had ran out of her favourite scent (Figuer Eden) and I went to buy it for her again. I decided to try three of the scents that were laid out: Vert Malachine (I enjoyed it but didn’t test it on my skin), Rouge Malachite (the Jus de Rose fave) and Ambre Eccentrico (fascinating one, really.) I also tried Olympea by Paco Rabbane (I’d been curious). Once again I prove to myself how important it is to test the perfumes on the skin! After 3 hours of wearing the perfumes this is how they had transformed: Olympea ended up a very weird and rather masculine (according to my mother) scent on me. All of that Gourmand sweetness was gone. It was weirdly refreshing to the nose… Rouge Malachite was phenomenal. It kept its scent profile 3 hours later. Very feminine. Ambre Eccentric had mostly kept its scent profile but it had become this almost gourmand sweetness that I didn’t enjoy. Basically, dang. Perfume on skin tests matter.

I love MH, I own quite a lot and I wish some they discontinued quick would come back like Velvet cherry and Black datura. They are amazing! My most loved one is Poirier d'un soir but I enjoy a lot Tea tonique, lumiere doree , Citron citron, rose silence. Unfortunately la fumee in all versions and feullies de tabac are too masculine and dry for me but I love to sniff them around the house.

What do you think of perfume ingredients? I've heard some perfumes have really bad chemicals in them that actually can disrupt your endocrine system/hormones when inhaled or put on the skin. Would love to see a "Science Behind Fragrance" video about it from you! What constitutes a "healthy fragrance"?

There’s a regulatory body for the fragrance industry called IFRA and they set the standard when it comes to the concertations of ingredients in fragrances and what is safe vs not. Fragrances are not “bad” for you as they are strictly regulated by IFRA. Fragrance brands need to abide to these rules to market their product. It’s a legal requirement to list the allergens on the label that goes on the fragrance. Have a look at IFRA, there’s lots of useful information on there 😊

Also Jus is correct, if something is bad for human wear, they discontinue use of ingredient (reformulated begins?) Or disappear fragrance (the first Opium which my mother still loves is arresting but... discontinued!grrr).

I blind bought Scherzo on your recommendation. She’s lovely. I blind bought a bottle of Peau Santal bc the notes were right up my alley. I was super excited but when it arrived it was like faintly scented alcohol. I tried over spraying it, giving my nose a few days rest from it, waited a month and tried again. Nothing. 98% alcohol and 2% fragrance. I’m being generous with that 2%. I will try anything with Santal in the name and I usually love them but this was a huge disappointment.

For me Oud eclat is more similar to Oud satin mood, but yeah it is similar to something from MFK. I have Scherzo and I would probably get Feuilles de tabac or Etui noir in the future, but Le cedre, Tea tonique and Reverie de bergamote aren't bad also. Pity they don't ship to Europe, but my local store keeps their fragrances, so no problem there. Thank you for the video!
