Whereas the original song seemed to be about boredom and even the rebellious anger one might experience as a teen, I feel like this cover manages to capture boredom in a lifeless way as well as teen angst perfectly. With the rise of depression and anxiety amongst teens and young adults, I feel like this cover fits the youth of this generation in the same way the original fit the generation of the 90's youth.

I almost had a heart attack when I heard this watching Black Widow, I was sooo excited that it was getting attention. I've been listing to this version for years, it was so good I even tried to do the spotify thing where you can get your own music synced because it wasn't available on there (or at least I couldn't find it). No one else knew about it, it was like my own 'personal version' of the song and it meant a lot to me. But, wow, I just about lost it when I heard this in theaters.
