That's quite an unconventional method! Melting silver in a microwave kiln can be an intriguing sight. It's always fascinating to see creative approaches to metallurgy. 🔥🔬

Temperature control can be a real test of skill, whether you're working with a microwave kiln or crafting induction coils from microwave parts. It's a fine balance that calls for ingenuity. 🔥⚙ #CraftingChallenges #Innovation

My torch set cost me 400 bucks. Years ago I modified a microwave transformer and built an electrical arch kiln. Saw it on youtube and built one. It would melt 1 oz of gold in 3 minutes. The problem was the carbon / graphite rods didn't last very long. They would burn up., loose contact and you would have to reset them

It's melting, not smelting. Melting is turning metal liquid Smelting is turning ore to metal.

Thank you Brother great info that I'll be using soon hears some more info for you there's a video on KZbin by Todd anderson/ the Desert Artist he catches micron good the stuff that washes out of sluices. He make a kind of slice but instead if matting he uses felt. If you catching larger peieces then there's always more dust😉
@matthewmartinez1091 Жыл бұрын
I was going over this and some of it you can't really understand because I was talk texting. What I was saying is Todd Anderson the desert artist is on KZbin and he has a sluice that he uses but instead of using regular matting he uses felt which is kind of like a mini wool blanket and that catches all the microns it also catches sulfites so whenever you put acids in it it won't really dissolve or touch the sulfites you have to smelt the sofa away and at nitrates while smelting small amounts but it changes the sulfur into nitric acid in a liquid form when it's melting and the pgms don't evaporate with the sulfur if that makes sense
