I feel like one thing getting overshadowed in all this is SMG3 being fully realized as an anti-hero in this arc. This past month has shown his overall (unforced) kindness in helping 4 out, hosting his sponsored ad commercials, and being genuinely nice in this episode. I love that they didn't just make him "good" after the genesis arc, but allowed him to accel in his own category within the graveyard making his growth come from his self confidence rather than a place of pride

If said criticism is valid, and they still ignore it, then it's still on them. Plus, Luke has always been open to criticism in the past. He wants what is best for us, but he simply doesn't work on the show enough to change it. People like Kevin and James have egos that are seemingly impenetrable, and that is why they haven't changed largely. With Medi's video receiving so much positive attention, the rest of the crew may actually be trying to change. Unfortunately, it appears some of these changes have yet to take shape. For example, we likely have another arc on our hands. Meggy is still a Mary Sue and taking center stage when other characters fit the role better (Melony in today's case). SMG4 and SMG3 have literally been completely changed to something not even close to what they were. While some emotional beats hit today, like SMG4's rage, Mario crying over SMG4 not showing up or Meggy going into psychopath mode and then "pwease come out UwU" feels so out of place. If we simply look over said flaws, then we won't improve any more. That is why criticism is ALWAYS necessary. It is why I nitpick a lot because, as Medi said, the small things are important. Some of these flaws still exist, and it will hurt the value of this arc. I don't see this beating out KZbin unless they fix up these other characters a bit, because right now, they still aren't great. And on top of that, we should explain why a lot of things are good. If it is so good, go in depth on it and explain it in an objective way. Subjectivity doesn't matter here, because that will be a skewed way of looking at things. I love Melony, but I understand she is a pretty bad character currently. I'm not afraid to point those flaws out. We have to be able to do so as well, even if we enjoy the product. We also shouldn't be expected to write essays on every minor flaw like this, because that simply gets annoying as fans. We wanna have fun, and mocking bad things can lead to fun, even if it is SMG4. They should know that and be able to decipher what is actual criticism and what are jokes. If not, then they likely have fragile egos that can't handle their product being mocked. I know for a fact Luke can, and he is willing to make jokes about himself as well, but the new team is more keen on lifting themselves up to feel good about themselves. That's not a healthy way to create. You have to take responsibility. You wanna walk the walk, you better talk the talk. SMG4 said that in the WOTFI 2022 rap, so the team better be able to do it or face being labeled hypocrites. Nobody gets a free pass from criticism. They are dedicated to the fans, so they should listen to them. If they don't, they're hypocrites. If they can't handle a lot of negative criticism, then they are delusional. SMG4 is not in the best state right now, and they shouldn't pretend it is, and neither should we. Criticism is a necessity, and if they refuse to listen for years on end, then of course the fans will be pissed. You played yourself for not acting sooner. But, in the end, all of this doesn't matter because Luke isn't crazy. He's doing Glitch stuff now, and people love that, and rightfully so. Luke is fine, he's likely in a better state now than he has been in the past because of a lighter work load, and overall this story is just fiction.

The fact that Mario just holds the picture of the best friend reward…really shows how much Mario actually cares about SMG4, like rewind back to WOTFI 2022, when smg4 said it was time for him to go, Mario have smg4 a genuine hug and cried, this shows how much Mario’s friends actually mean to him, especially smg4, it’s like loosing a person that you care about a lot.

Interesting to note that Mario showed a lot of his growth in this episode. While the day was centered and themed around him, he didn't make it as self-aggrandising as he could of, instead making fun games for his friends to play with him. Even his main event was to spotlight someone he cared about, rather than himself.

I honestly loved SMG4's voice at the end! You could practically feel the sheer power, rage and anger when he was chasing everyone out of Peach's castle, especially when he swears! Kudos to Luke's performance in that scene! So far it hasn't been confirmed if we have slipped into another arc without knowing. But if we have then this is a very interesting and unique arc! Instead of having some sort of extraordinary and crazily imaginative theme with a villain which does lots of harm to the main cast before being defeated at the end of the arc, it instead focuses on SMG4's downward spiral as he forgets about his friends and tosses them to the side in order to work on his 'perfect' video. A very down-to-earth yet creative concept! I like it!

I've seen signs of SMG4 slowly losing his sanity as far back as 2017. Remember when he said "then you have to lose your mind for the entertainment of people?" These signs have been shown even more so in "The Super Mario Stupid Show" episode, in which Mario even points out SMG4's unhealthy social & work conditions making him go coo-coo crazy. For a while I've been wondering just how long it would be until SMG4 finally snaps, and now it looks like he has.

It's not Mar10 day anymore here, but this is beautiful! It's often hard to know what to expect from this crew, but all the attractions and crowd behavior were perfect for such a celebration - probably good enough for real life if someone could organize it. The event of course started to go off the rails later, but the video didn't tank. Even if it means Bob just has really small arms, the item swapping is a fun trait to see more of! At first it was odd Mario didn't ask SMG3 to help with the main event considering their shared traits, but that made the reveal even sweeter. Really, being able to put this much thought into a SMG4 video comment is proof they've gotten good! My main dislikes are from story inconsistencies, but much of that was made up for with the ending. It's a bit funny to see so many people on a stream that seems to be looping about every minute, but then SMG3 chimed in, so I'm not entirely sure what to make of it... Edit: Did some counting, and SMG4 in the stream is looping about every 160 seconds. It's still a minimum of over three thousand viewers 10 hours later! That's........ something. Edit 2: Not sure when beeg SMG4 and the extra voicelines loop, though. Either way, I've come to relate a bit to the stream. While not nearly the same level of work, I started editing compilations over 12 hours ago. Left the room a few times though - must be what separates pros like him? Edit 3: Today I confirmed the loss of 19 hours of archived footage, and 2 programs are conflicting. It'd be nice to have a baseball bat.
