I knew Saiko's friend in her game would go somewhere. Kaizo seems like an interesting character, and his animation is another example of the recent quality leap. I like how Saiko used Tari's Meta Runner arm to summon him. No magic wands this time! He also might become an antagonist. This is definitely the beginning of an arc, and both Saiko and Kaizo will play a huge role.

Well, we do have precedence of it, seeing as how Saiko herself was an antagonist in her first few appearances until Luigi helped her take a level in kindness. Something tells me that Kaizo won't be so easy to soften, though.

Kaizo represents what Saiko could've been like if she hadn't gone through Character Development. While Saiko grew out of her violent, obssessive behavior, Kaizo never matured in the years he's been inside the game. He ultimately ditches her once he realized that Saiko is no longer interested in causing chaos with him.

I love how being beheaded is always just a minor inconvienence for Mario. I don't know if it's that he's the avatar or that he has some thick-ass plot armor (possibly both), but I adore how Mario getting beheaded and putting his head back on his neck like it's nothing has always been a consistent thing throuought the SMG4 series.

SMG4 made a really good backstory for Kaizo and pieced together what Saiko's old personality was like and made it work. This is totally a new arc for Saiko alright: "Friendship vs Demons Arc"

So Mario can decapitate himself at will and he still lives, and Chris once died but Swag literally put his soul back into his body, saving Chris, yet Desti got stabbed once and she permanently died even tho Octolings and Inklings are supposed to be immortal and they make new ink bodies from scratch every time they die, which is all the time, and Axol also died permanently even tho, again, Mario can decapitate himself at will and he also gets blown up, crushed, stabbed, yeeted and destroyed every second yet Axol dies permanently!? 🤔

Yay can't wait another WOTFI to be wasted on an Arc conclusion (it worked the first two times but WOTFI 2021 just felt forced (it wasnt a bad video it was good but it just felt like WOTFI is big so lets make it the Arc Finale) so I'm hoping it's like 2018 and 2020 but it realistically won't (in fact calling it now if it is an Arc WOTFI it will be even more forced than 2021))
