Even if Gaijin doesn't want implement equipment-relative BR, there's literally nothing stopping them from splitting the SBD into two planes. The version we have now (the SBD-3) wasn't even the most produced version. There's nothing stopping them from adding the SBD-5 at a higher BR and giving that the gunpods instead. Besides, the gunpods were a late-war invention (1944). They were supposedly rarely used to begin with, and it wouldn't surprise me if they were never used on SBD-3s.

@@duke8463there are a few things wrong with that. The A6M6c sits at 4.7 with a climb rate of just under 11 metres per second. Though (in my experience) it does have great guns, the lack of climb means that you'll more often be on the defensive rather than the offensive, and its turn is also affected by the extra firepower, it's a long way away from the typical Zero, as is the A6M5 hei.

I remember when I first start going from peashooters to the sbd-3 and always racking up insane kills on the ground units because I could fly so slow and shoot em, but then I could speed up and drop bombs like crazy… good times

There was an SBD in ww2 that got into a dogfight with 3 zeros and won. After sending the first one away smoking and shooting down the second one, he used his plane's wing to cut off the wing of the last zero. The called the dauntless, slow but deadly

I'm at 6.0 BR with my best plane but have recently reverted to using planes with a 2.0 BR or lower and have made more SL and RP then when playing at 5.0-6.0 BR most of which is because of the SBD-3 and gun pods.

Ah, more gunpods madness. I imagine that you have probably played the SB2C with gunpods but if you haven't, its a monster. You can outturn nearly everything, lots of ammo, airbrakes which come in surprisingly handy in a turn fight. Basically the SBD-3 but better. Only thing can be repair cost, get a 1-2 air kill game and sometimes still loose money without premium.

It gets extra guns, no bomb load, and still gets the high bomber spawn! In my opinion, bombers fitted with gunpods should get the lower/Attacker spawn, and Attackers with gunpods should get a lower/Hydroplane Fighter, or even Airfield spawn.
