I get *why* it was gone from the final cut but damn this should’ve been kept in the film. It just gave a bit of complexity to their relationship instead of it just being her be only overbearing and dismissive to Skye as she was in the movie.

In this film, she is portrayed as a wonderful mom. She teaches her daughter important lessons about resilience, integrity, taking advantage of opportunity, and the value of hard work. If it weren't for the smile demon gradually turning Skye's mind to mush, she would be able to help her daughter significantly.

This kinda humanizes Elizabeth... I can see why they removed it. Not sure why Skye ran off... I want a spa day lol This also explains why Skye kept getting those phone calls while talking to Morris Also I see they reused some of this footage when she went to meet Morris. They just removed the mom from the bed

Yeah this is basically like the scene in Skye's hospital room later in the movie. It didn't add really to the film. But having the 2 actors in another scene is great. But I like in the next scene we understand without this scene what all the phone calls Skye is getting while at the Bar talking to the Morris dude.
