Actually you can counter it, i had some 200iq twitch on my team who went top lane also against a janna with smite that roamed, he reached lvl 4 top, and just followed her around the map counterganking, top lane was legit empty

Just need inting sion, Janna can’t poke a sion down, and he got too much wave clear, when Janna busy helping other lane, their top side tower is gone, and sion will be too tanky by the time they send people back, sion have no bounty but you can’t even kill him and watch him take tower in front of 3 people

Let me tell you what will happen if you pick this in Platinum or lower: 1. 1:27 - "it gives your botlane priority" which they have no idea what to do with. 2. 2:20 - Instead of invading enemy jungle, Hecarim pings you a million times and recalls back to base after the scuttle because "bot is pushed how can I gank". 3. 2:28 - "it's an easy dive" that nobody knows how to execute. Your ADC and Support are dying. They give you a taste of couples of question mark pings and write "ff 15, report Janna". 4. 4:40 - "aim for early dragons" - sure, champ, your Jungler doesn't think so. And so on and so on...

Once had a gold-plat flex game and they did it with janna and zeri. Not gonna lie if you dont know how to deal with this tactic it's very powerful. So in low elos I think it could work with duo or flex with full team so you can communicate easier.

@@Hclody95 That's not toplaners being irrevelant. That's playing to have cc bot instead of bruiser toplane and controling botside of the map. Dragon and bounties play huge role here. Also a lot of people just straight doesn't know how to play when something new appears. I had wukong on top in team who faced this janna. Even tho we didn't die on bottom and mid was holding well, janna wasn't counterjungling too much. Our wukong lost game by pushing enemy to inhibitor and having 8 deaths at 10 minutes while maintaining gold value due to bounty system.

Nope, I just want my old teleport back. I'm a toplane main, and the TP changes feel terrible for anyone that isn't a splitpusher. Nerfs tanks out of the meta, too. This strategy is shit if I have my normal TP, at 6 minutes in I'm level 6 and I tp to the next fight and stomp the retard who decided to not stay in lane. The TP nerf made that 6 minute window into 14 minutes; and that is why this works.

It's also painful as hell as a jungler, it's literally impossible to contest the bottom half of the map basically ever since you're always at numbers disadvantage, there's no toplane to gank, mid only has to ward 1 angle, and if they rotate top after drake you're then once again forced to the other side of the map. It's impossible to get information on the bottom side of the map since it's too dangerous for bot/mid to walk in to get vision. I hate this meta so much.

There is a counter, trundle/sion top, Trundle: if there isn’t a laner, you will see a trundle in your base before 14 mins. And then he’s just gonna take other tower when you have to send a normal laner to handle super minions in 15mins Sion: inting sion don’t care, he’s here to take tower, and Janna can’t do anything to sion, he’s just gonna ignore Janna and take tower.

And because Janna can’t do anything to super minions, they will have to send mid/adc/jg to handle the super wave, then you just need to take tower in that lane/ invade their jg, get dragons etc. but because you are a fed split pusher, they cant even do dmg to a sion with hulkbreaker, so you can just keep taking towers and turn the table around, make it into a 3v5 game, FYI, trundle can take first tower in first 6-7mins, if you are playing vs trundle and die after 5 mins, trundle can easily take 4 plates. And if you just leave lane, your base will be open at 11 mins. No one have dmg to kill supers at 11 mins

The whole point this works so well is that you are just an investment for her and her team to collect due to the bounty system. One fed laner vs her fed team isn't gonna be good and if you do get first tower the issue is over extension against their fed mid/jg and janna with drags under their belt. Support toplaners work well due to them needing less gold for an item.

@@isvack it’s not free farm, there is only 5 people in a game, mid/ jg / adc, if you send adc to handle super minions, they don’t have that dmg by 20mins, you have a 5-10mins window just to do whatever you want, not afk watch adc farm top, if you can force one player out of the game, just to stay top, just take free drag, then take bot lane, it’s just a support and a janna, what can a support and a Janna do to inting sion and trundle, nothing, you can ping your bot lane to help or pressure mid, their jg can only pick one lane, and because their adc doesn’t have enough dmg, their jg might even need to handle the wave with him as well, even if he doesn’t, it’s a 4v5 game, caz their adc is locked in top, take more tower, and get more visions, the game will be over around 25 mins, you can’t just fuck around and waste time after take inhabs, just like any game, you don’t just inhab for no reason, after you take inhab, you take dragon, or elder or baron, or pressure other lane, while the enemy is force to handle wave. It’s not free farm, when your map doesn’t have tower, their jg can’t play the game, and because you are playing inting sion, they can’t even kill you, let’s say the bounty+all the farm from top gives adc 1k gold, that’s still not enough for one item, he can’t kill a sion effectively, if he’s a vayne, he couldn’t handle the super minions that early, so it would be a 3v5 game. And there is no reason you play inting sion or trundle just to run around and farm while watch their adc scale

Nasus and Quinn would go so well again smite Janna. Nasus has perfect Q stacks and steamrolls his way through midgame, while Quinn will outroam her LV6 onward and scale harder since she is an ADC.

Nasus looks good on paper vs smite Janna, but Nasus struggles hard against teams with heavy CC, and by definition of "Janna Smite" we know that the enemy team will have at least one champ with a perfect ability for kiting Nasus in the form of Janna tornadoes. Comments have mentioned Sion and Trundle. Idk about Sion, but Trundle is for sure a great pick. He scales well and has ridiculous split push potential. Thats exactly what you want against smite Janna, someone who has some great split push potential and/or scaling that gives him a great power spike after 1 or 2 items. Might I suggest Gangplank? Gangplank gets to a point where he can insta clear waves with his barrels, his Q is giving bonus gold, he has nobody fighting against him trying to deny him farm, and once he hits 6 he can be a presence in other lanes with his ult without leaving top, and his barrel damage gets ridiculous with scaling. After that GP pushes down first tower he's gonna start popping up around the rest of the map literally deleting enemy adc/apc health bars because some idiot wanted to take the top lane spot and never go toplane, thus giving GP free farm. This doesn't need to be nerfed. It's a viable strategy designed to punish tanky low damage Top laners. Unfortunately it just means, that if you first pick top, you can't pick a tank or your gonna get countered by Janna Smite, in the same way that if you first pick top, you can't pick Garen, because your gonna get countered by a Vayne/Zoe. We may see the meta shift back to something it was several seasons ago, where Top was a bruiser, Jungle was an assassin, Mid was a mage, and Bot was a marskmen and a tank. Right now the meta has bruisers going jungle, assassins going mid, tanks top and mages support, and it's really just the prevalence of champions who do not scale well and cannot split push well, but win top lane because they're tanky enough to never die, that caused this Smite Janna phenomena to happen.

It works, and probably will in lower korean elos, because ppl playing on the korean server have a better understanding of macros than people on other servers. That's actually unlikely to happen. 1. If a trundle does push that far, he is very overextended, and just becomes another easy kill. 2. You also do NOT want to kill inhibitors before 20mins. This is because your superminions will end up killing the enemy minions, which means lesser gold income. It also perma pushes your lane, which results in more overextension or impossible to farm to avoid overextension.

@@ZakoolGG Obviously he becomes an easy kill if he doesnt play smart, but trundle is a menace if he gets gold. Sort of like yorick. 1 item 10 minutes they can easily 1v2 and 1v3. If the enemy doesnt do enough damage to outright kill him he does a crap lot of sustained damage. Even if supers do end up pushing the wave up to nexus. Someone has to be there to kill the supers. And it's not going to be janna or the support. So it's probably the adc or mid because jungle control is bit too important and junglers and supports get the minion debuff if they kill too many minions. Then the trundle can just get the towers of the lane that laner that has to respond to the supers. Let the trundle split on the lane and 4 people can go to the other lane. Sooner or later they will only have one lane left and no jungle control. Then just get drag soul or baron and push mid since the enemy should be really far at that point.

You can counter this very easy by picking nasus or master yi top that will definitely carry the game once they have free farm and items. You can also counter this by using champions that can take down turret within few seconds like trundle, nasus, urgor, yorick ... build up hulkbreaker and then someone in their team will have to go top to replace janna. Now you can see that the game is already go back to normal but their team will have to suffer because of a tilted janna. :)

Other champs that can do the Smite strat are enchanters like Karma, Lulu, Zilean, Ivern, and Bard (Soraka as well but a little too immobile), people have been trying Taric, Taliyah, Predator Ghost Flash perma roam support item Rammus and Quinn, Yuumi, Rakan, Smite Ghost Singed, and Nunu.

This way you have 2 on their way top so when they 4man bottom it’s only 1 person on your team that’s going to fall behind. if u ever see janna top in your games as a toplaner this worked quite well for me ( 3 games- fiora/sett ) swap lanes with botlane if they wanna give bot side pressure to dive ur adc and support in toplane u get free drakes and free bot push so u can get easy baron later on, if they decide to dive you instead then hope u can go 1 for 1 or ur bot lane pushes hard it just messes up thier whole strategy and doesnt let your botlane get 0-10 and be useless whole game if u get fuckked in botlane toplaners are easy to play from behind they are tanky they provide frontline and cc where as an adc who is behind is useless

@@eunwolfuxian9353 yeah you can, but the enemy team has an advantage and soloq is the worst place to have high expectations on your teammates, while his roaming and while your scaling up your team is useless cause all the enemy lane is fed and has a advantage in dragons and you'll be flamed by your teammates because your enemy top laner is literally roaming and your just scaling slowly with no impact in early stage move forward to 12:00 mins in game you'll be gank by three fed people. That's why I didn't inclued scaling champs cause they're weak in early stages of the game.

So this is what works in toplane now. Well then I am very sorry but this is disgusting, they made toplane so insanely useless that you now have to ABANDON the lane as a support to determine something in a game. This strategy might work, but this was never what toplaners were looking for. This is no longer toplane. They could also remove toplane champions because what does that matter anyways now? @@Vivinseph Because hilariously enough, most split-pushers/hypercarries still have a negative winrate. The only split-pusher who wins consistently is Nasus, but they can just stale and wait for late game and he's useless again.

I played 2 games of top supports just now. One was soraka and one was yi. Bcuz of my roams my jungle got super fed. first game as soraka i went 1-6-39 and my vi went 36-12. Another game i was lulu went 3-0-22 and my yi went 23-6-4

Pro's tried this strat. Graves top got gigga fed and the loss was sure to follow. It just demonstrates that Riot needs to make all lanes equal length, and get rid of the bounty system.

It only works if the enemy team let's it work. As literally running away from fights while top pushes then when they roam top to kill them, push mid or bot as group of 3 or 4, if they split their forces then send your support to support the top laner while adc just essentially sits at the nexus till you see where the enemy jungler and top laner is. In solo q everyone has conflicting ways of thinking which can enable this strategy.

Yorick, Nasus and GP are very good against this strat as long as your team isn't baited into fights in mid and bot. They push turrets extremely quickly if left alone. Nasus and GP scale very hard into mid/late game with items and level leads.

There is a problem about using Yorick or Nasus. It is true that they will destroy all toplane and probably destroy inhibitor, but that would make things worst for your team. If you destroy inhibitor, that means the wave will constantly push toward the enemy, giving them free farm. Also, as they are fed, they can clear it easily. And now that there isn't a toplane to push, you're forced to help your team or go to bot. This is also another problem, as now you will be an easy prey. Remember that Yorick and Nasus don't have enough mobility to be a menace

Just counter pick a splitpusher like yorick and rush hullbreaker first item and obliterate towers while you 1v2 them. You literally have infinite farm, but it's a time race

actually, her counters are usually heavy roam toplaners like quinn, and I also found Ivern is a counter in the jg because if you try to steal the other jg's camps, you cant do that against an ivern.
