GREAT presentation! I am curious what software was used to make these videos? Anyway, I believe the rl and xl axis are swapped in the first graph. (See timestamp 1:57). A constant resistance in that graph would be horizontal, or vertical if the axes are rotated.

Ok, got an answer to something I wasn't even thinking about. Been wondering why [x^2-y^2-z^2, 2*x*y, 2*x*z]*1/sqrt(x^2+y^2+z^2) is a 3d smith chart. It's that z[l]=(1+Γ)/(1-Γ). There is a rotation function for tangents. tan(pi/4+t/2)=(1+tan(t/2))/(1-tan(t/2)). You're forcing Γ into that tan(t/2) spot. Given, it's not a regular tangent. Maybe it's more of a hyperbolic tangent thing going on.

On KZbin there’s a channel that talks about the 3D smith chart. Can you explain it like you explained the 2D version ?

Great video. In the impedance plane, aren't the labels for x and r misplaced? It seems like r should be on the real-axis.

Great explanation, perfect combination of discussion and visuals, thank you! Maybe you could consider speaking a little bit slower, so us slower thinkers have more time to digest each sentence, but not a biggy as we can always go back and/or read the transcript.

Good video, but check your mid-roll ads. They interrupt sentences and break up what would otherwise be a good flow. Maybe back off on a couple of ads too. For a 10 minute video, you're getting a little greedy.

You do realize that Google places ads in these videos, not the content creator. I have a subscription to KZbin, which removes all of their ads from the video content. Unless a content creator places their own ad, not Google’s ad, into their video, subscribers see no advertising during the video. The KZbin subscription fee allows one to watch a video uninterrupted by Google’s ads mixed into the content. Hope that helps. Cheers.
