Smith-Corona Electra 120 typewriter at work

I'm glad to have my favorite camera back and working for this clip, which shows the speed and image quality of this late-1960s Electra 120. This was Smith-Corona's premium electric portable, a delight to use and a real workhorse typewriter.

The mint-green/ivory combination is beautiful, I have the Galaxie in the same color scheme. These Smith-Corona portables are the only machines I have any interest in beyond the late 1950s. Lots of plastic but still solid machines.

Yes, I agree on the color scheme -- the green is a bit metallic, semigloss, just a nice finish. I think the use of plastic in this model is pretty conservative, actually; the carriage release levers are just about the only weak point here.

Is there an Electra 55? I'm seeing a picture of one that is upside down and it appears to be the numbers 55 but I can't tell for sure. Are there still ribbons available for these?
