I wish I had one of these back in the day! I’ve been carrying revolvers in one way or another since 1988. I’m probably the last revolver instructor in my large agency. One huge thing that will help revolver shooters; don’t grip it like a semi auto. With a revolver, the web of your hand should be high on the backstrap and the support thumb should be tightly on top of the primary thumb in a high grip. Shooting the revolver with the typical, semi-auto “thumbs forward, primary over support” grip, is more like shooting it one handed. Try a revolver grip, you’ll see the difference. I have this revolver too....it certainly did not come cheaply, but my God the single and double action is so crisp! You feel every click and you -know- when that gun is going to shoot. One issue I had with the beautiful wooden handle is that the recoil would tear up my hand, so I had to replace the handle for a less attractive rubber grip, but it solved the only issue I had with this model. I would absolutely carry this model everywhere! 8 shots of 357 mag is no joke...and if you have a few moon clips ready and have practiced how to put them in well, its one of the best cc options for a revolver for my money

Dr Kim definitely purchase this model! I have one and its one of my favorite models to carry! And moon lips are so compact and easy to carry with it...I really cannot think of a bad thing about the model 327

You may want to shot one first before your buy it or talk to someone that owns one or has shot one. The recoil of a light weight snub nose 357 magnum is not for everyone. Most people recommend this revolver for the well experienced revolver shooter. It is an amazing revolver, but IMHO it is not for everyone.

You have a great point. I have the model 327. The only gripe I had with this beautiful gun is that the wooden handle would rip up my hands due to the recoil. But all I had to do was get a rubber grip....its not as attractive but hey...

Love my six shot model 329PD and it is the lightest and most powerful 44 magnum you can buy. Mine is quad ported and wears a 500 S&W magnum Hogue recoil absorbing rubber grip. Oh, and a fluted S&W stainless steel cylinder switching out the titanium cylinder it came with.

Not know nothing about guns so, what is the difference between a .357 and a 38 special? which one is more powerfull, you can load two different bullet size in the same gun cylinder. Thanks. Great gun by the way.

Do you have issues with yours shooting low? I've found mine to be great on windage but 6" or so low at 7 yards with 124gr bullets.

The ballistic advantage of the .357 magnum is lost when the barrel is that short for sure. I think I remember watching a video and a short barrel like this more or less turns the .357 magnum into 38 special+p. Still a cool gun and I would carry it 😝

It's a trade off of more blast, fire, concussion, and shorter sight radius, but I'd still like to see the numbers. The first time I slipped a 357 mag into my chamber, I felt the concussion wave push my keys into my leg. It was glorious. 🥳

Maybe it was just me but in watching the video it did not look like 357 magnum rounds caused very much more recoil compared to the 38 special rounds you were shooting. Maybe you were shooting 125 green 357? How many feet of distance would you say this gun is accurate at? What’s the furthest distance you would say it’s still fairly accurate? I have also heard other people say that the barrel and cylinder typically gets eroded rather quickly with this firearm? have you had any trouble with that and what ammo do you use? Like what ammo brand do you use and grain?

had one and even converted it to run 9mm on moonclips (could also fire 357/ 38)... way too big to carry well, N frame 8shot cylinder very large diameter and that grip is ridiculously long (boot grips made it a little better but upset balance)... also barrel length borderline useless... super cool yes... but my taurus 856 ultralite 9mm conversion (6shot 16oz) kills this for carry and half the cost (even after conversion)

Smith and Wesson should make its own version of the Taurus 617, maybe with a scandium frame, titanium cylinder and an internal hammer ; a 7 shots in a pocketable size and weight !! This gun would probably kill also the Kimber k6s and the new Colt snub noses chambered in. 357.
