Got the 69 in 4 1/4 inch about 5 years ago. Had it quad ported from Mag-na-port. Cylinder machined for moon clips and extended cylinder release from TK custom. DL fixed tactical rear sight with Hogue mono grip as well. I have a bad habit of taking something that's fine the way it is and improving on it. Good video.

Nice shooting. .44 magnum are no small potatoes. Impressive indeed. Great video.

Bought the 2.75 inch model on Monday shot it on Tuesday (5 yards) with Magtech 240 gr JSP (50 rounds) and handled it with no issues. I had ordered those grips but may keep the stock ones as they weren't bad at all. I shot on Thursday starting at 5 yards and ended at 8 yards 50 rounds and the group was slightly larger than a quarter. I ordered the sight that has the white outline and will probably dab some white paint on the front sight. I believe I shot better today because I put the web of my hand high on the gun. I will admit my right-hand web is a bit tender tonight. On Tuesday I put my hand about 1/2 inch lower and didn't have any tenderness but didn't shoot as well. I figure once I get the new sight 10 yards should be doable. This will be my winter carry gun (Galco IWB) unfortunately living in central Florida that's about 4 weeks. I hunt hogs with a Raging Hunter in 44 mag so I do have some experience with magnum handguns. Also have a BFR in 350 legend but that's an entirely different beast!

I listened to your recommendation, and purchased these particular grips. I also just bought the Mod69 2.75 barrel I plan on installing these grips today and getting out to the range tomorrow 🇺🇸

@The Hide I have a quick question. I tried to swap out my old grips for the new Hogue shown in the video, but i didn't have the pin attached to the bottom grip to install. My question is did your 69 come with that pin..?? I tried calling S&W but they were already closed, ill try back in the am

I sure would. Any idea where I can find 1 in the combat model 66 .357 Magnum.

Just traded my 4" for the 2 3/4" model 69. It's a sweet rig! No regrets. If I want a large 44 revolver I'll grab my super redhawk.

Hogue 500 S&W sorbethane padded rubber recoil tamer grips are mandatory for model 69 revolvers.

I would get the 4.25 inch model 69 and send it to Mag-Na-Port for quad porting treatment. Hogue 500 S&W recoil absorbing rubber padded grips too.

Nice pistol, I had s 686 plus and 10 years still regret selling it. But i am having a major reloading issue that i hoping you can help with. I am reloading for 6.5 grendel, using hornady dies and hornady case gauge. So when I full length resize my brass I can’t get full lock up with my ar, I have tried the 1/4 additional turn and that doesn’t help. My hornady case gauge says that my brass should work but it doesn’t. I get full lock up with factory ammo and my rifle shoots factory ammo. I am thinking about trying a different set of dies any recommendations?

Am I the only one who doesn't like the black against matte stainless?

I like the black and matte silver

I wish it had the same black accents with a traditional brushed stainless finish.

No, I'm the same. It's like having several little lock holes all over it. My 66 on my channel has the black parts swapped for stainless. Significant improvement in my opinion. I am holding onto them though as there's a part of me that really wants to send it off to be nitrided black.

It won't. S&W was bought by the lock company when their stock hit rock bottom and renamed back to S&W. They aren't a gun company that puts locks in their guns, they're a lock company that builds guns around their locks.

TK Custom has Hillary Hole plugging matching metal for your S&W revolvers so afflicted. Original Precision does too.
