@ One must choose to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, accept that we are sinners saved by grace through Jesus’ death on the cross. After that since we are now redeemed back to God the Father, we pursue a life that aligns with our Holy God (Bible). Our sincere confession with our mouth and heart should produce life changes that testify that we belong to the Holy Father through the power of Christ. For example, I can’t say that I love Jesus and “practice” a sin filled life. I must give up sinful ways and habits in order to please God. Also, Get linked up with a true Bible teaching church, one that teaches about repentance, sanctification among other things. Hope that helps a bit! God bless you and yours!

@ just as I have never preached anyone into glory, I’ve also never preached anyone into eternal judgement. It’s not my place to do so, as I’m not God. As a shepherd & professional counselor, I always do my best to be sensitive to the grieving, while not lying from the pulpit. I’ll generally speak from a text that encourages those who are unsaved to give their lives to Christ, because the service is for the living & not the deceased. Many preachers miss that point. I may add in something like, “I don’t know what his/her final destination in eternity is, because I was not privy to the conversations that they had with God. But may our Lord have mercy upon his/her soul, as well as each of our own souls.”

Thank you! I said at my mother’s funeral that Heaven is a prepared and place for a prepared people! I just spoke with a woman today who lost her son. She said he is in a better place, yet I didn’t know him to be a born again believer. Hell is just as real as Heaven people! Repent, make Jesus your Lord and Savior! He’s coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle!

I work for 7 funeral homes… the stuff I’ve heard and seen…. They’ve gotten worst. Especially black funerals. You get high just walking in the tunnel of weed smoke to the funeral entrance. People have become very disrespectful at funerals. No decorum and ignorant.

If the family member knew nothing of God, lived contrary to God, or hated God, why have their funeral in a Christian church that is a sacred house of God and have a preacher “preach” the funeral? It just doesn’t make sense to me in my opinion.

The Bible makes it very clear in 1 Corinthians 6:9 who will not make it to heaven. The Bible also says that accept a man (mankind) be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. If you obey the commandments of God, then there’s a strong possibility you will rest with him forever. If you choose to go against that, you will find yourself eternally separated from him. Cortez, I respectfully disagree. If we kept the commandments we would not need a saviour. The reason we need one is because we broke the commandments. Keeping the commandments take work, and salvation has never nor ever will be by the works of the law lest any man should boast (brag) for the work they have done. Notice Acts 16:30-31 KJV”what must I do to be saved? And they said BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.. notice there was nothing about the commandments neither does John 3:16 say it.

The demons believe and they tremble. Work is still required for us to make it to heaven. The Bible also makes it clear in that same book you just mentioned, that we must be born again in order to see the kingdom of God. You can’t just believe and think you’re all good. No, work still has to be done. And no, we’re not boasting in ourselves, but in Christ that lives within us, who promotes the change.

Yes I disagree about having to work to get saved. If I have to do any work, that is not salvation if I’m required to have any part than believing on him that can save me. Interesting about being born again. Notice he said “AGAIN” which means you were born once which was of the flesh. Think about it, when you were born what work did you do to be born? Also who did the work for you to be born? Well same with being born of the spirit now, you do no work to be born again, someone else does the labor..Jesus did the work for you to be born the 2nd time.

So not only do we have to work for our salvation, BUT believe /trust in him as well (not for somethings, but trust in him with all things). As scriptures says “ we’re saved by Grace and not by works.” However, it takes a little more to just believe in Christ to make it in. We as people must draw others to Christ (Mark 16:15) We must continue to fall on our face asking God for forgiveness of sin that we may have unwillingly committed towards him (1John 1:9) That’s just a few brother. Bottom line is, we still have to do our part. Believing isn’t enough. Now, I agree when you quoted Acts 16. But as long as we have breath in our bodies, it doesn’t stop there.

Years ago, I began to question whether my family members made it into heaven based upon what the Word clearly says... if you have unforgiveness in your heart at the time of death, you will not enter in... Because Jesus says that if you don't forgive, neither can I forgive you😢 And I know for a fact that a few of them were guilty of this sin. I would suggest if you teach on this top to deliveryour message in that context instead of lumping everyone in the same category. You can't preach anyone into heaven or hell. We are here to bear witness to the words and works of Jesus in your life. We don't know or understand the relationship between God and that person. He gave you an example of the thief on the cross. Grace and Mercy. Read Hebrew 8 😢.

I get the premise, but the problem is, you don’t know what that person did or didn’t do before they died. Maybe they struggled with some things but gave their life to Christ before they died. Now of course if somebody is killing and stealing right before they die yes you shouldn’t make them a saint, but it’s self righteous to assume that because someone didn’t outwardly display something TO YOU that they weren’t saved. Also who is going to actually say at a funeral, in front of someone’s family “your loved one is in hell. “ What are we really talking about here?

I’m not sure how you heard that . He’s not encouraging insensitivity or casting judgement unrighteously others. He’s speaking as to how people internalize the death of loved ones that they know did not live a life submitted to God. You’re right, no one knows what that person did in their last few breaths, but the Bible also tells us that we discern and know people by their fruits Matthew 7:16. So can derive an idea of where that person might be based on how we we knew them while they were alive. He’s not telling people to give eulogies condemning the deceased to hell, but he’s saying to be HONEST in your thought and don’t speak lies that counteract what you judged and discerned about that person as you knew them alive. All for the sake of providing false comfort. Most sinners will in-fact die in their sin, unrepentant.
