Right after I wrote this I heard the judges said “ having your mouth open in awe” and if you don’t it’s because you don’t understand gymnastics and because she makes it look so effortless. Those legs, her brawn and brawl and her sheer confidence makes me tear up at how great she is - and I’m just so grateful that she had all the opportunities she did because I can’t imagine a role of gymnastics without a simone!

What I really respect about Simone is her realistic appreciation of her own limits. This week that happened to be pulling out of some events because she knew she couldn't do it, but for years she has shown the same awareness by evaluating her skills and know she can do better, pushing the difficulty higher and higher because she knows what she is capable of. The older generation of gymnasts looked frail. Like sticks ready to break under pressure. I'm so proud of how farthing have come. Healthy girls and athletes are so much better than skinny, frail ones. Simone is SO beautiful and a huge part of the beauty is healthy, powerful muscles. I am so happy that she listened to herself and her well-being in the recent events. She is already a Star. No matter what. She doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone. But, they train these beautiful women like soldiers. No time for human emotions. She herself stated that she feels like the weight of the world is on her shoulders, can you imagine? The stress, the worry that she has to swallow to not show fear, but to smile, and pretend that she is ok at all times. These organizations groom the start athletes to perform even with injuries, it’s happened to many times. Good for her for thinking of herself 1st, and following her gut. I am so proud of her, more today than before! Whomever thinks that she “quit”, for no reason, has not been watching what this woman has already accomplished. She DOES not need to prove anything to anyone anymore. This is why athletes have a BREAKING POINT. They are humans, they FEEL, they are not damn soldiers, go fight until the death! Jesus Christ! Haven’t you SEEN how many artist have broken down after a performance? They retreat, they go to rehab, they disappear for months, or they commit suicide.Why? The PRESSURE. The pressure is real. Haven’t you ever felt anxiety about something? Yeah, now multiply that by a million. Put yourself in her environment. People need to learn to understand behavior and why it is happening, before they jump the gun and attack someone without knowing what they are going through. When the body has gone through enough trauma, the body will speak to you. Either by shutting down, or your mind will shut down. When both of these shut down, it’s time to stop. And your body will stop weather you tell it not too. The people who criticize her, and called her selfish, think like the same people who do not understand what it takes to perform how she does. They don’t see her training all day like a rag doll for year after year. They don’t see the injuries. They only want to see her perform. And that, is selfish. Just like the coaches who harass them when they do not perform like they want them too. These coaches have no heart. They are like robots. No feelings. Let’s not forget that when Simone came out as another sexually abused victim, they finally decided to close the training camp. Can you imagine training in the same place where you where abused sexually? Another gymnast who was sexually abused, who went to court to testify against the man who abused them all, stated that the training camp had no cell phone reception. It is on a mountain away from civilization. The next hospital is so far away they would need a helicopter to transfer anyone that was injured. This young woman said that she would not eat or drink water, just to stay in shape. And when she would make a mistake, she was harassed by the coaches. She also stated that she was AFRAID of the coaches. These coaches instill fear in these women. Simone has been through hell, and she is a star already. She doesn’t want to follow the train anymore. She wants to follow her heart. Let’s let her make her own decisions…..for once in her life, she finally did.

Unlikely, the deduction referenced there is just technical/procedural. The was supposed to be a leap, there wasn't one cue a deduction.
@ejlear12303 жыл бұрын
It's actually really interesting. They're scored in two different categories for each event. The difficulty score and the execution score. You add the two together to get the total score for the event. The difficulty score you get points just for attempting difficult moves, the execution score is where you are judged on how well you performed said moves. Simone is immensely talented and attempts skills with a much higher difficulty than her competitors. As a result her difficulty score is always much higher than her competitors and they start out with a lower score from the get go because they cannot perform moves as difficult as she can. They're trying to say it's not fair because Simone will start out with a lead since her routines are harder. It's absolute bull. She earns her difficulty scores and deserves them for attempting, and generally, successfully completing them. They're truly short changing her. It's infuriating.

In gymnastics, every tenths of a point is crucial. Her beam dismount was underscored, it was given an H value instead of J. Her first tumbling pass on the floor should have been an I or K but only given a J-rating.
@formicroscopyuseonly3 жыл бұрын
@@gymnasticsfan9495 Are you saying you know better than the judges the value of her performance? Seems presumptuous.
@gymnasticsfan94953 жыл бұрын
@@formicroscopyuseonly I am stating facts. For instance, BIles 1 beam dismount was only given an H despite the added twists. If her beam dismount is performed in a floor exercise, as per code of points it is a G-value, so when performed as beam dismount, a full point of J is just. One does not need to be a FIG judge to know that Simone was underscored and undervalued. I thought that you when you posted such question it was out of curiosity and that, you have no basic knowledge about gymnastics scoring system not out of spite, so I tried my best to answer your question and you call me presumptuous. THAT'S RUDE. No, my basis is the code of points, commentaries and articles from global gymnastics authorities. FIG judges aren't akways infallible, they can also undervalue Simone's eponymous skills. Seems that no amount of explanation could satisfy trolls and haters like you. Google it.

Acho que nos outros países as meninas tem competições internas, nacionais, pena que no Brasil, só tenham as olimpíadas para competir e comparar suas técnicas com as de outras meninas. Biles é verdadeiramente excepcional.

It’s when your body has too much power to execute the move correctly. Imagine having so much of a powerful force that you can go too high....(injury) too fast (Fumble) or spin to fast and hard that you can’t nail a landing. This is super human strength packed in one tiny body.
