Five Statues from Ain Ghazal, Jordan

These statues are one of my all times best archaeological remains. Every time I visit that museum in Amman in stop to look at these small details of the statues. What a great effort that's been done by this great team. I wonder if the archeological site was found with more care how it would look like and and more remines they could find.

I believe the Ain Ghazal site itself was discovered in 1974, however, archaeological work did not begin until the early 1980s. These statues were discovered in 1984.

We here in Pakistan had a similar era civilization called "mehr Garh". Settlements dating back to 9000 BCE had been found.
