30:50 "The Maiden" - It's always like this, then *and* now. Of priests, holy men and their kind deciding that OTHERS must sacrifice themselves or be sacrificed. `For everyone's good, including the victims', of course. It's never THEM who must do the suffering.
@cyninbend

I am very curious if sacrifices were as widespread as archeologists say, and if ancient people were as crazy religious as they say. We have churches on every corner in the US but I don't know anyone any more who actually belongs to a church. And no one would be a willing sacrifice. Death for death's sake, not killed in battle or anything... The greed and judgements of churches have alienated virtually everyone. Holidays are different, esp Christmas, but we do not center our lives around a church. Yet archeologists like we have today would define us as super religious based on the number of churches, our calendar, etc. Acc to archeologists, ancient civilizations did not build much of anything but churches--no clubs, no theatres, no stages, no hair parlors, no bakeries, no restaurants, and only the Romans had spas and houses of prostitution (often one and the same). Only the Greeks had amphitheaters for plays and the like.

It strikes me as odd that that female mummy's hands look that perfect. Im talking about how you can very clearly see different colors within them like pink, purple. The purple is obviously the bruising, but for the pink well thats what color i have in my hands. It means its dilated capillaries in the hand which draws more blood to the surface. And some doctors think its because of hormone changes. So why does her hands have that pink color when she shouldn't have any blood left in her body? Can someone maybe explain why this is?

Ya know, we could at least TRY to get his name right. It isn't "Aht-cee," it's closer to "Et-cee." There are two dots above the Ö. It's called an "umlaut," and is very common in German. The glacier is the Ötztaler, where he was found. Fascinating book about everything forensic discoveries of the time is Man in the Ice. They analysed what foods he had eaten, what pollens were on him -- so therefore what season he died, where he'd traveled from -- the grasses his footwear was made of, his firemaking equipment, his weapons and their process of production, and his conditions, like arthritis, and charcoal markings in spots on his body the first researchers called "tattoos." (A later investigator who knew acupuncture recognized those marks as acupuncture points for exactly the conditions he suffered from! I believe I read the study analysing his acupuncture points in Nature, or maybe it was in Science News. Think about that. A Stone Age man in the Italian Alps was getting acupuncture. ??What?? Another article I read after that identified what is now called Lyme disease in Ötzi. He has provided a font of insight into his life and times. Oh, one last thing. Many years after he was found, someone noticed that he had an arrow in his shoulder blade. He had been shot in the back, bearing a bronze tool, a hammer, maybe. Bronze, in the Stone Age. A man ahead of his time.

For Egypt I believe the Best they have is Salima Ikram. She has a true passion for what she does and doesn't jump to conclusions. Unlike Hawass whose Ego is soooo big. Also to see so many speculate and assume they know what what was going on in the lives of these people that have passed ( they weren't there) is just wrong.
@mortyjansen399

She also has a wonderful engaging way of telling about the findings, but without “speculation” what she bring forth is what is now known as “firm knowledge” not only theories. She is the real deal i would love to hear her teach and tell about this in person. She also has a very respectful way of going at these things. - and make it relatable to todays way of doing things.

Where do you suppose our remains would be stored? Will there be a Smithsonian or similar building where these artifacts are stored for all to see 5,000 years from now? How will the information be stored? On a pinhead dot that is read by looking at it and clairvoyantly seeing what it contains? Will the future people even have a vast record of this time period in history? Just wondering.

The funniest part of this video is all the Mormon conspiracy theorists yelling about skeletons of imaginary giants in the comments 😂

Ole ways exist today as they did back then only a few see it. They the ways are given a new name. With the wrong medicine.

@@jjbentley9 There’s a conspiracy theory among Mormons that there used to be giant humans walking the earth, because their prophet Joseph Smith (19th century) thought that without any reason whatsoever 😂 Tons of Mormons try to pressure museums to release the “giant skeletons” they think the museums are hiding because of this 😆

How did they carve their figures into stone with such precise accuracy with primitive tools or were they burnt with laser like a printer !

I truly despise the desiccation of the dead, which includes unwrapping somone who had been mummified. There are amulets and jewelry within the wrappings also, which are typically stolen or, at best, separated and placed elsewhere in a museum. Nothing connected with what was a mummy stays with the remains. Reality is they are no longer mummies once the intricate wrappings are removed. Without the mummy wrappings, they're just a preserved body.

@N Johnson nope, the correct usage would be YOU ARE, therefore the correct contraction would then be YOU’RE! Nope, just can’t take you seriously, even when you try to insult somebody!!!!
