Her nails being "bumpy" probably means leftover glue from the fake nails since she never dissolved it.

To be fair, it does work, just way slower than the normal way. Toothpaste cleans the enamel of your teeth using sulfates, so it'll do the same thing to the coloring and other additives they put in enamel nail polish. Dermatologists will often recommend it to people with very sensitive skin who might get chemical burned by normal nail polish remover... although usually those dermatologists will recommend first you just don't paint your nails in the first place, if that's the case.

Either they gave her fake nails that they glue on her actual nails and she ripped that off, or she completely peeled off the nail polish applied to he rnails. Regardless both options are bad since they damage your nails and it's possible to rip off parts of the nail. It takes about 6 months to regrow an entire nail and the nail bed is extremely sensitive.

I'm kind of amazed Rissa's chat didn't tell her the actual advice. You'd figure there'd be at least one Warhammer mini-fig painter out there who couldn't help themselves but suggest the correct way to remove enamel paints. In case you're wondering, you use this stuff called, follow me here, "nail polish remover." It's usually right next to the nail polish on the shelf in the store. It's just acetone, and some people complain that it makes their skin sore, but in that case you just be very careful only to apply it to the paint. Don't get the scented stuff or anything that claims to be 'softer on nails,' or anything, and especially don't get anything that's not clear like water; any chemicals they add just make removing the enamel that much harder and longer of a process.
