I splurged on the carbon fiber Cleric 2 and was hooked on Heretic henceforth. My last purchase was the purple carbon camo auto Wraith. It's so sweet and the fit/finish is flawless. To be honest, you can find some examples of poor quality from Heretic. However, they seem to fix the few issues that occur. I now have two Clerics and two Wraiths and they are absolutely perfect. The price is high but reflects materials, machining and labor plus other associated costs to run a business. I am a big made in USA supporter and Heretic is THE brand for autos I think. Microtech (sorry dad) is too overdone beefy. Protech is not my style mostly. Benchmade is not on my radar anymore. Houge and Kershaw do a decent job. Heretic makes the top tier stuff in very interesting designs. I am looking at a Medusa next, I see there is a purple camo carbon to match the Wraith...

I have the Microtech Makora II carbon fiber, a nice large OFT knife. But now that I have the Heretic Cleric 2 carbon fiber. whowww I am blown away what a beautiful knife. Sorry Papa Marfione. But I'll switch to your son. His knives are the next level

What's the Magnacut HRC on Heretic Jinn?

The shop tour video shows him doing HRC testing. The target stated by the maker was 60-61... Seems a touch low to me. I have seen testing that shows toughness does go down with hardness more than I thought. I think more frequent touchups are better than reprofiling chips or tips. Everything is balance and preference.

Perhaps but many places do not allow "weapons" to be shipped. The laws inside America can be complicated state to to state and when you add in international law, taxes, and restrictions it is a whole new can of worms

@@ToxicityAssured Man… after playing with the Cleric for a second I realized it was dull. Way too dull to cut paper. Contacted Heretic, had to pay to ship it back for sharpening. Now that it’s back from the factory it’s kinda better? Absolutely won’t shave hair and only a few sections of the blade will cut paper. Not thrilled but it’s not the most slicey blade shape either.

​@@NullAndVoided I hate to hear this! The company is getting lots of minor but negative comments. We don't ever want a USA maker to go under. Let's go Heretic! I really have a bad habit of buying a user and a safe queen. I did the same for the CF Cleric. I have #11 safe queen and #51 user. I also hand sharpen all my knives to hair whittling edges. I have been doing it for over a decade and I feel very qualified to identify a sharp knife. Both will shave fine hair from my arm easily. Both will cut paper no problem, but yes it's a thick blade. #11 will cut chunks out of a hair if held close to the edge. #51 wouldn't do anything to a free hair. My preferred test is how easy a knife removes finger print. Both shave it off with little to no feeling. SHARP on both counts! I bought a purple camo Wraith that also came very sharp. It shaved and sliced paper but didn't whittle hair until I quickly stropped it. Now the Wraith has a THICK edge so I was shocked it cut so nice out of the box with a little diamond stropping. After deciding I like the Wraith, I order a second purple camo. It will be here tomorrow and I am REALLY hoping for 4/4 excellent edges from the box. Regardless, any user gets dull. I will make them all razors some day!

I agree I need to sharpen it myself (frankly I always do my own knives) my hesitation is because this is my first time with this blade shape and more importantly at this price point I am concerned about making a mistake. Chalk that up to lack of experience with freehand sharpening. That said I’m still keen on getting another Heretic!

Absolutely beautiful work! For me constantly talking about all of the experience behind the product falls short when you consider every company in the world has the same experience behind the product except for labor, price of the labor is the biggest difference no reason trying to pretend.
