I've seen that a lot this past summer. Saw dancers walk off and still win. Like you said, tho. That's how it is with specials.

@@valerieparker6410 nobody said anything disrespectful to or about your son. Having an opinion about another dancer being better, disrespectful it's an observation and an opinion. Also being in the pow wow scene knowing how people judge, and knowing that having a family name or being well known goes a long way with who they pick as a winner. You can be upset about that but that's just how it is at powwows

He’s made a name of his own on his own & among all of the dancers is well respected. Peoples ugly opinions is what makes ugliness in the circle for dancers. I’ve been in that circle and had my day good & bad…my son too. We don’t expect a win every time we step into that circle but we do expect to do our best and that’s what will be displayed no matter your opinion is of the outcome. He actually did quite well considering he didn’t get a rest in between like the others. He also did quite well considering he went to this pw an alcohol last year. Him & I dancing together was a celebratory moment for me as he accomplished a lot. That’s also his little brother he danced off with. That was a win win to have to champion dancers out there going head to head. Know the dance before you comment.
